✯ a couple of years ago I had to find another place to live because I had to leave my previous one in a very unfortunate way. I was kind of desperate, but fortunately I found the 2727 house. It was a very cozy and special place, with an equally special roommate: Maxwell. He’s an old, big eater, a little grumpy, but incredibly lovely and charming cat. He welcomed me right away, and we connected instantly. He made me feel secure about my decision to move there and stay for a while, which is why leaving felt so hard.
He used to literally knock on my door looking for attention, cuddles, and of course food—he loves treats, I mean he basically eats anything, lol. He loves going outside, feeling the air, lying on the grass, protecting his territory, and just hanging around.
He’s special because he can make you feel at home, even after a tough day. Just cuddling with him was enough to forget about everything. He also loved being the center of attention—if people were around, he wanted to be seen and petted as much as possible.
You could find him sleeping on the couch, the rug, the back deck, or on top of a backpack—he loves backpacks. Despite being territorial, he had some feline friends he enjoyed spending time with.
He’s so smart. On my first night, he led me straight to the closet where his food was kept so I could feed him. We even had to make a schedule to avoid him tricking us into double portions, lol. He also quickly learned to give me his paw in exchange for a treat—only for a treat. Smart boy.
He’s big and getting old, and even walking is getting a bit difficult, time has flown I guess… he got sick and they say it’s better to say bye and letting him rest so he doesn’t suffer, and I just wonder if he also felt loved, cared and seen as he liked so as he made me and so much people were lucky to live with him feel. I’m pretty sure he did.
I feel very lucky and happy for being able to say bye to you my big boy, after all this we’ll meet again in so many other places, in so many other forms, in so many other ways. I’m pretty sure this wasn’t the first time and it’ll be not the last one! I’ll always see and feel your light ✯
