🌿 A House With History. A Table With Stories.

At 168 Oakland Avenue in Spartanburg, The Oakland House brings together the charm of an old home and the pleasure of gathering around a beautifully prepared table.

With a reported construction date of 1920, the house has witnessed more than a century of Spartanburg’s changing seasons. One especially meaningful chapter belongs to Phyllis Hicks and her daughter, Katie, who together owned and operated The Oakland House Epicurean Catering.

Katie—Professor Emerita of Art at USC Upstate—brings an artist’s imagination to the experience of hospitality. Over the years, The Oakland House has welcomed guests for celebrations, weddings, culinary classes, and evenings devoted to good food and good company.

Today, that story continues. From our recent Evening in Provence to an enchanting afternoon with Cinderella, each gathering offers another opportunity to make memories in this special house.
