From severe weather and vendor issues to illness and other unexpected disruptions, wedding insurance can help protect the financial investment you’ve made in your wedding. While no one plans for something to go wrong, having the right coverage can provide valuable peace of mind—especially for destination weddings.

My advice? Purchase wedding insurance as soon as you begin paying non-refundable deposits, and take the time to compare coverage so you understand exactly what’s included.

Wedding Tip No. 36

Not every bride has spent years imagining her wedding day—and that’s completely okay.

If you’re figuring things out as you go, don’t assume your parents (or anyone else) automatically knows what’s most important to you.

Before the planning gets into full swing, take a little time to think about your priorities. Is it amazing food? Beautiful photos? A relaxed atmosphere? An intimate ceremony? Once you know, share those priorities with the people helping you plan.

A simple conversation early on can prevent misunderstandings, reduce stress, and make sure your wedding reflects your vision.

What qualities make me a successful wedding planner?

My mom apparently had me figured out from the beginning.

Years ago, I found a baby journal entry where she described me as “bossy but helpful.”

At the time, I wasn’t sure whether to be offended or proud.

Now I spend my weekends organizing timelines, lining up wedding parties, answering questions, and making sure everything runs smoothly…

so I’d say she was pretty accurate. 😅

Thankfully, being bossy but helpful is exactly what couples need on their wedding day.
(And I always reassure the bridal party that I’m only bossy during the ceremony) 😂

Planning, directing, and keeping everything on track is what I’m made for!

As a wedding planner, what’s my favorite part of a wedding? THIS.

The uncontrollable smiles that my couples get when they’re in it. All the wedding jitters have faded and they’re enjoying the best day of their lives with not a worry in the world.

I can’t say it enough: I truly do have the best job! Being with these amazing couples from beginning to end of their wedding planning process makes me so happy.
