🐝 The Harjo Haus Origin Story

Long before Harjo Haus Hospitality existed, there was a 19-year-old front desk agent learning the art of hospitality at the Renaissance Oklahoma City Convention Center Hotel & Spa.

I started in 2009 with no idea that hospitality would become my career. I simply showed up every day determined to take care of people.

I'll never forget walking into HR to submit an application and being interviewed on the spot. During my interview, General Manager Jeffrey Oliasami ("Mr. O") walked by and introduced himself. I smiled, introduced myself in return, and later learned that simple interaction played a role in my hiring.

His message was simple: hospitality starts with making people feel welcome.

Within my first few months, I was nominated for Associate of the Month multiple times by different leaders and coworkers. Guests mentioned me by name. Managers recognized my work ethic, initiative, and commitment to service. I was invited to leadership luncheons and personally recognized by the General Manager for exceeding guest expectations.

One nomination said I was a "rare find in this industry."

Another said the Sales Department "couldn't wait" to bring me onto their team.

Those words changed my life.

What began at a front desk eventually became an 18-year journey through hotel operations, sales, event planning, contract negotiations, travel planning, and hospitality consulting.

Today, Harjo Haus Hospitality exists because of the lessons I learned during those early years:

✨ Take ownership.
✨ Serve people well.
✨ Do the extra thing.
✨ Build relationships.
✨ Never stop learning.

These old papers may be faded, but the foundation they represent is still the heartbeat of everything I do today.

Thank you to everyone who believed in me before I knew what I was capable of.

Being seen for the first time is strange.

For years, people knew me as:
a sales manager
a hospitality leader
a coworker
a mom
a wife
a friend

Now I'm introducing myself as a founder.

And if I'm honest, that feels vulnerable.

When you've spent years building a reputation inside other companies, starting your own means stepping into a room where nobody really knows what you're capable of yet.

You post. You network. You tell people what you're building.

And sometimes it feels like you're standing in the middle of a crowded room hoping someone notices.

But every business, every brand, and every success story started the same way.

Before they were established, they were unknown.

Before they were trusted, they were introduced.

Before they were visible, they were brave enough to be seen.

So if you're building something, keep going.

The people who need what you offer can't find you if you stay hidden.

While hospitality consulting, room blocks, venue sourcing, and event coordination remain at the heart of what I do, this partnership allows me to better serve clients looking for travel planning support as well.

Whether you're organizing a corporate retreat, association conference, sports travel, group accommodations, or simply planning your next getaway, I now have access to expanded travel resources, preferred partnerships, and industry tools to help create a seamless experience.

From the outside looking in, people may see just another LLC.

Maybe there are even a few who think I'll fizzle out.

But what I see is presence.

Today, I worked poolside. Not because I'm wealthy or affluent, but because I had the faith to leap into this venture and create moments like these.

We spent four hours at the pool today. During that time, I took business calls, did some prospecting, followed up with contacts, and made my social media rounds. I also got to be present with my children.

This photo was taken after I asked my kiddos to gather around me for a quick picture. We had our pool day. We laughed. We lived today. We did what we could with what we had, and this time, I got to be there for all of it.

Harjo Haus Hospitality is about moments like these.

It's about using my superpowers as a mother and hospitality professional to seamlessly weave together a successful workday and a meaningful life.

It's also about giving other parents, coaches, organizations, and business leaders some of their freedom back. When you trust me with your room blocks, event sourcing, and hospitality coordination, you're getting more than a service. You're getting time back to focus on what matters most to you.

We are family first.

We are breaking the mold.

We are building something different.
