Here’s how I created this baroque drapery focal point for a beautiful Nigerian Introduction ceremony 🤎✨

Layer by layer, pleat by pleat — bringing together rich textures and warm neutral tones to create a backdrop that felt elegant, intimate and rooted in the beauty of the celebration.

Sometimes the draping is the statement. 🤍

For this Hairathon, Maya Negus wanted a village-inspired space that celebrated her roots and gave her clients a glimpse into her culture. We took that vision from a mockup to reality, creating an experience that felt warm, authentic, and intentional.

A decorator’s dream is when a client shares their vision… and trusts you with the creative freedom to bring it to life — while also being clear about their budget 🤍

That combination is powerful. It tells me exactly how to design with intention, maximize value, and create something truly beautiful within the right parameters.

One of the biggest challenges in event design is when there isn’t a defined spending range for key elements. Not because the vision isn’t possible — but because clarity helps your vendor serve you better.

Pro Tip Thursday: Always have a comfortable budget range in mind for your event — even if it’s flexible. This allows your decorator to present options that align with your expectations, prioritize what matters most to you, and deliver a result you’ll love.
