Sometimes you need a little drama to really let a location speak.

That just married feeling when it finally sinks in at the end of the ceremony recessional.

MariBeth and Chris walked back down the aisle at The Star Barn with the kind of joy you can’t fake, script, or recreate. It is that split second where the nerves are gone, the vows are real, everyone is cheering, and you realize, “We actually did it.”

Sometimes the strongest wedding portraits are the ones that feel the most effortless.

Sara and John, tucked against that terra cotta wall at the Cork Factory Hotel, are the perfect reminder that clean and classic will never go out of style. No overcomplicated backdrop. No forced moment. Just soft color, good light, and two people fully wrapped up in each other.

The weekend is here, and this is exactly the kind of just-married energy worth celebrating.

Greta and Joe at the end of their ceremony at Excelsior, walking into married life with the biggest smiles, raised hands, and that unmistakable “WE DID IT” kind of joy.

These are the moments I’m always watching for. The unplanned ones. The real ones. The ones that don’t just show what happened, but bring you right back to how it felt.

There are certain wedding day moments you can plan for, and then there are moments like this.

Jackson on the dance floor at Bentley Farms with his parents, laughing so hard you can practically hear it through the photo.

That’s the thing about weddings. They bring people into the same room, on the same dance floor, in a way that almost never happens in everyday life. Your parents. Your closest family. Your favorite people. All celebrating you, all at once.

These are the once-in-a-lifetime moments that only happen on wedding days.

Not because they’re perfectly posed.

Because they’re real.

And years from now, this is the kind of photo that will matter even more. The laughter. The hands held. The way it felt to be surrounded by the people who have loved you the longest.

That’s why I’m always watching for these moments. Because the dance floor isn’t just where the party happens.

Sometimes the best groomsmen photos happen when you give the guys just enough direction...and then let chaos do its thing.

I told Andrew’s crew to have a little fun with him at Historic Acres of Hershey, and they absolutely understood the assignment.

This is why I love building a little breathing room into portraits. Yes, we’ll get the clean, classic, everyone-looking-sharp photos. But these? These are the ones that bring back the actual energy of the day.

The laughter. The personalities. The “remember when they picked you up and nearly lost a shoe?” kind of memories.

The best portraits do more than show what you looked like. They bring you right back to where it all happened.

Brittney and Jimmy at Drumore Estate had that perfect mix of quiet, emotional moments and a setting that deserved to be part of the story. The brick, the ivy, the garden, the architecture, all of it added so much character without stealing the attention from them.

That is why I love creating both close, connected portraits and wider scene-setting images on a wedding day. One lets you feel the moment. The other helps you remember the place.

And when both come together? That is where the story really starts to feel complete.

A first look does not take away from the emotion of the day. It gives you a quiet place to actually feel it.

Before the ceremony. Before the timeline picks up speed. Before everyone is watching.

Just Sam and Hassan tucked away in the gardens at The Inn at Leola Village, having one of those “oh wow, this is really happening” moments together.

And that is the value of a first look when it fits your day. It creates space. Space to laugh, breathe, hug, take it all in, and be fully present with the person you’re about to marry.

The ceremony will still be special. The aisle moment will still matter.

There are dance floor photos, and then there are Jenna and her dad absolutely owning the room at The Cork Factory Hotel.

This is the kind of reception energy I love photographing because it is not posed, polished, or trying too hard. It is just pure joy. The kind of joy that happens when everyone is fully in the moment, the music is hitting, and the people you love most are right there with you.

Jenna and Matt’s wedding had so many beautiful moments, but this stretch of the night? Elite.

Jenna’s dad understood the assignment. Jenna matched the energy. The dance floor never stood a chance.
