Your local flower shop of more than 50 years is hiring a part time flower shop associate!
Job description: As a floral designer you will be required to process flowers, maintain their quality and health as well as learn to design in a multitude of styles. Similarly, customer consultation for flower orders is at the core of our business and you are expected to learn the various kinds of floral services we offer and be able to discuss them at length with clients. Our flower staff manages florals from arrival till delivery. We offer on the job training for flower handling, floral design and floral sales.
This position relies on interpersonal skills, clear friendly communication and exceptional time management!
In addition to florals, our shop has a gift-shop sporting everything from greeting cards to local handmade artisan gifts. Employees maintain the cleanliness of the workspace and gift shop, help price and stock shelves, manage inventory and participates in gift-shop decorating.
All staff members equally participate in ringing customers out, answering phones, cleaning the shop and delivering flowers.
The hours:
14-21 hours
Tuesdays and Thursdays 10-5, alternating everyother Fridays 10-6 Saturday 10-6.
Some flexibility with scheduling available.
Pay rate is dependent on experience.
Requirements:
*must be available the noted days and times
*must be able to lift 50lbs
*must be able to stand for entire shift
*must be able to handle temperature changes (in and out of floral cooler)
*must be able to use hand tools like clippers and floral knives daily
*must be able to communicate effectively over the phone for customer calls (hearing and speaking).
*must be able to see flower colors (no-color blindness or have colorblindness aids to assist you)
*must be 21 or older (required for driving privileges)
*must pass company vehicle insurance coverage and have a valid driver’s license

We pride ourselves on quality and specialty flowers. While you can find a stunning rose or elegant lily in our cooler, we typically have fun and unique finds as-well. We take our job serving the community seriously but we do so while having fun, cultivating creativity and building lasting memories with customer, vendors and coworkers alike. When we aren’t crafting for our window display or oohing and ahhing over the latest artisan creation one of our partners has brought into the shop, we are working with local farmers, select quality distributors and planning upcoming flower workshops!
