Hogapalooza just returned from cooking at the Windy City Smokeout in Chicago, Illinois. I’m pretty sure this was our eleventh year to be a part of this amazing festival. Much thanks to everyone at Lettuce Entertain You for having us back. Definitely, our favorite event of the year. Close to 100,000 people attended the bbq and country music event.

We prepared pulled pork sandwiches and bbq nachos this year. Our tent sold out all four days. Just an incredible experience. Thanks to everyone that came by Hogapalooza. It is truly appreciated.

Also, thank you to Deanna and Margaret Cunningham for letting us be a part of your special day. I am so humbled that you guys included us on Michael’s celebration. Much love.

That was a long week, but I had the best crew in the park. You guys are awesome. Family and friends are such a blessing. See ya down the road.

We just want to say, happy 4th of July to everyone out there. It’s been a great day here in Arkansas. Much thanks to our devoted customers. So blessed. Also, thanks to all the men and women in our armed forces, both active and retired. I have to shout out to the men and women of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, active and retired. Often overlooked, but so essential. You are appreciated. See ya down the road.

This past Friday and Saturday, we had the privilege of catering the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception for Luke & Emily Chapman. We throughly enjoyed being involved in their special weekend

Their event was held at “The Barn on Greers Ferry”. The view of the lake from this place is incredible. Luke and Emily picked out a menu of pork loin, smoked chicken, chicken spaghetti, cheese potatoes, smoked green beans, tossed salad, and our famous banana pudding. Definitely a big weekend for them and for us. Congratulations guys.

A big thanks to Pete and Ashley for the help and for boarding us. We are ready to come back!!!!!!

We were at Centennial Bank Stadium last Thursday for the second time this month. Hogapalooza catered two big recruiting dinners on the campus of Arkansas State University. The dinners were for high school recruits and their families. Thanks to Coach Butch Jones for having us back.

Morgan, Savvy, Jake, and Layton made a stop in Wynne today. They were on their way to St. Jude. Just to let everyone know, we were able to present them with a $10,000 blessing. This was possible due to the generosity shown by our community and friends on Saturday. Friday morning I got a phone call from Mr. Odell McCallum. Mr. Odell prayed with us that our benefit would be a success. If there is anyone you want praying for you, it’s Mr. Odell. His prayer was answered. Glory to God in the highest.

Saturday was so on !!! What a crowd we had in the heat !!! The Savvy Hink benefit could not have gone any better. Our goal was to sell out. We did just that. Totals were 150 butts, 146 racks of ribs, 20 gallons of beans, 18 gallons of coleslaw, 40 hot links, 40 lamb gyros, and lots of sandwiches and plates. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Our community is a special one. We always come together when it matters.

Lots of people donated or refused change. Others helped wrap butts and ribs. Some helped with cleanup, taking orders, running errands, transporting grills, or buying drinks for everyone working.

The Hogapalooza team was absolutely amazing. We had help come over from Memphis, Paragould, and Forrest City. We even had our good friends Bobby and Peg Elliot fly to Memphis Saturday morning, rent a car, drive to Wynne to help, drive back to the Memphis airport, and catch a return flight to Chicago at 5:30 that afternoon. They just showed up. No one knew. That is just a reflection of some of the things I have experienced within the BBQ community throughout the years. A lot of LOVE !

By the way, Brad South and Larry Lewis were machines this week. Also, thanks to Delta Elevations, Hays, Bill Dugan with KWYN, Jackie Clark, Sharon & Gary Countz, and my wife LeAnn. She is a beast !!!! ( in the good way ). Haha

I want to thank everyone that came out to our bbq trailer this past Saturday. The weather was terrible and couldn’t have rained any harder. I’m so grateful to the people from all over Cross County. I don’t think we have ever sold out that fast. Once again, my family and friends came through like champions. We will try to do it again. See ya down the road. ❤️🐷😊

Big, big time in Cherry Valley last night. Hogapalooza was honored to prepare the meal for the Thunderbirds state championship celebration. A huge crowd turned out for the festivities. State championship rings were presented as well. Very cool.
