🎨✨ SHEE’S THE MOMENT: The Graffiti Glam R***e ✨🎨

Downriver Pride is excited to announce our first show of many, bringing the glam, the color, and the attitude to Parking Lot One in Downtown Wyandotte for the Shee Show!

Join us on Friday, June 19th from 6:00–7:30 PM for a fabulous drag showcase hosted by the iconic JahJah Shee and Xanadu Shee, featuring an amazing lineup of entertainers ready to hit the stage and turn it out. 💃🌈

We are so excited to welcome our featured queens, with a few more performers still to be announced! Photos of the entertainers joining us will be shared as well, so stay tuned as we continue revealing the full lineup.

HELLOOOO PRIDE DIVAS! 🌈✨

We are officially getting so close to our Pride festival, and we could not be more excited!

We have received your emails, texts, and yes, allllll of the messages lol. Because of that, we are extending the application deadline to this Saturday. We know a lot of our nonprofit friends were trying to get everything submitted, and as a community-based event, it is important to us that everyone has a fair chance to be part of this.

HOWEVER, this will be the final extension. No matter how many emails come in after Saturday, we will not be extending the deadline again.

Our entertainment lineup will also be finalized this week, so everyone should be hearing from us very soon!

We still have sponsorship opportunities available as well. Reach out if you are interested in supporting this year’s festival! 🌈

Today’s article is a reminder of why visibility, respect, and community support still matter so deeply.

Joanna Whaley, a transgender woman running for Congress in Michigan, is facing a complaint from a political opponent over the name she used to file for office. Everyone has the right to be addressed as they please. That’s why we still fight.

At Downriver Pride, we believe every person deserves to be recognized, respected, and addressed as who they are. Politics should be about ideas, leadership, and service to the community — not using someone’s identity as a weapon.

Trans people belong in every space, including public office. 🏳️‍⚧️
