For me, what I see that makes an incredible Dad is a man who first is an incredible husband. A type of support a wife can depend on. Someone who will be a partner, not just a roommate. A partner that will work with you, not against you. Someone who wants to be on your team; in marriage and parenthood. A partner who is intentional and involved. A partner who communicates. And honey, that is you! We are not perfect by any means, but I love this life we have together! You love our girls so fiercely, but you don’t let that get in between us. And because of that I feel we are a good unified front in parenthood. Again, not perfect, but working together as a team.

So as y’all know, we’re not super hot on social media and just plain terrible at it. Yes we’re still shooting weddings, however, we’ve had a little, cutie patooty of an excuse as of late 🥰.

We welcomed Harlan Mae Brown into the world, and our home, on Saturday May 18th. I couldn’t have done it without the help from and ! They were my rocks and made it so special, and I can’t thank them enough! Austyn Gene is absolutely obsessed with “Baby Harlan” and is the best big sister ever! We’ve enjoyed every minute of these past 3 weeks, and still can’t believe she’s that old already 😭. And a big thanks to our sweetest and talented friend for fitting us in last minute for this beautiful newborn session! 🤍

Mother’s Day 💐

Two years ago this sweet and precious girl came into this world on my very first Mother’s Day; a day I had longed to be apart of for years! She has been the greatest gift to Cody and I and I couldn’t be more thankful to be her mom! She is spunky, a free spirit, loving, kind, sweet, funny, tough, independent, and strong willed. And we can’t wait to see who she becomes! Love you sweet girl! 🤍 Hope all the other mamas had a great Mother’s Day!

And for all of you who struggled with this day or are longing to one day to be able to enjoy this day; I pray that you don’t give up. I’ve been there and it hurts. People without thinking would tell me “Happy Mother’s Day”, knowing full well I didn’t have any kids at the time, or I would even avoid church like the plague because it was going to be centered all about celebrating moms. Just know you’re not alone, I and so many others have been where you are, and there are other women out there I’m sure would love to talk with you about their experiences. That was one of the greatest outlets for me. And just please don’t give up. Your time and blessings are coming!

Hey y’all, it’s us! 👋🏻

Cody and Jerusha Brown; the owners of Beyond the Lens Productions. Yes we’re still here, still alive, and still shooting weddings, we’re just in the busiest/craziest season of our lives.

So to catch y’all up on what’s going on in our lives…first and foremost we’ve been super busy soaking up every moment raising our precious girl (because she will always come first), Cody has taken on the position of head Pastor at our church, remodeling a family member’s house we bought earlier this year, and we’re still shooting/editing weddings for our beautiful couples. So needless to say, we’re very busy and doing our best to get our films out to our couples. Thank you all for being so patient with us, and we’ll be sharing films from earlier this year soon.

Just a little about us though, in case, you’re new, we’re a husband and wife team who may be caught smooching during your day or slow dancing at your reception. 🫣🤭 We have a beautiful 1 year old; who we’ve personally decided to remove from social media. Speaking of social media, we’re pretty terrible at it and we’re honestly ok with it. We are the type of people who like to be present for all the moments. So you probably won’t catch us getting too many, if any, “behind the scene” shots for our stories, because our focus will always be you; our couples. We don’t do reels to catch your attention, we’re just us! We’re a couple who invest in our couples. Or….we could just be old. 😂

(Husband Appreciation Post)

As we continue to look back on this moment a year ago; as I look back on all of these photos I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude. Grateful to have such a strong, solid, supportive husband by my side every step of the way. Boog has been there for me in the highs and lows of those years of trying to conceive, during pregnancy, parenting, and everything in between. He has held me through the emotional times and he’s cried with me! He has lifted me back on my feet, physically and emotionally, when I couldn’t stand.

However, in these specific moments during laboring and childbirth is the most significant! Honey, you will never understand the how much you meant to me in these moments. How grateful I am to have a husband who cares for me the way you do. Who’s always there for me and supportive in every way a person can be! I needed you this day a year ago and you stood by my side every second! I’m so thankful because I couldn’t have done it without you! 🤍

All of that to say thank you! Thank you a thousand times over! Thank you for loving us so much! Thank you for loving us unconditionally! Thank you for always being there! Thank you for always being my strong support, and my partner for life! Thank you for being the best dada to our best girl! I pray we can do this all over again one day! 🤍 I love you with all of my heart!

I’m also grateful for such a cool midwife for taking some pictures of us while we wait for little miss to arrive! thank you, I’ll cherish these forever!
