When you take the time to slow down, and listen, you can almost audibly hear our Father speaking to you. Last year I knew it was time to walk alway from the very place God placed me, which was weird, and confusing, but God was making it VERY clear that it’s what he wanted for me. To be back at home, being a mom, and working on my business.
I began praying what was next for my business, I knew I really wanted to starting working with other businesses, but I wasn’t sure in what capacity, or even what that looked like. I asked friends who did similar line of work, and my heart grew more excited! Then it happened, God opened a door. The Pregnancy Care Center of Wayne County had just been featured in a magazine, and they asked who the photographer was of the photos they submitted for the magazine, and it was me. Bekah even shared a hilarious calendar I taken photos of the staff for her Christmas presents! Think JcPenny’s 1996 photos. Ha! And somehow the owner of the magazine still saw something in my work where he wanted my information. Bekah sent me a text letting me know I might get a call, and it wasn’t long after she sent that text, I did.
Marlin and I had a great conversation, one filled with authenticity, and even some tears. I knew Gods hand was already all over this story. He invited me to come in and sit down and meet again with the team, and share more. So I did that, and once again, I felt so moved by how God was in the little details of this.
They said my very first photoshoot would be coming up soon, and it would be at a Horse Therapy farm. Well, if you know me, I grew up LOVING horses. So this was a a big yes! I didn’t really look much into the place, I just looked up the address and knew where I was going and that was it.
The day came, I arrived, I shook the hands of one of the trainers, and she warmly welcomed me and shared a little bit about what was happening. Then veteran, after veteran arrived… it was all adding up. This was a horse therapy farm for veterans, also children and others too! But the major part of their ministry was veterans. Once again, in awe of Gods beauty in every detail, I became overwhelmed at His goodness. I then met the owners, and it was there I got to share with them that I have my very own veteran at home. And tears filled my eyes on how our amazing Father could align something so perfect for my very first cover story project for Plain Values magazine. What I witnessed that night was so beautiful! I called my husband right away that night when I left and knew I needed to bring our own family there sometime.
And here it is, my very first published magazine cover story photo! With several more inside! So if you’re out and about and see this machine, be sure to pick one up! And even better, I’ll put a link in the comments of their website where you can subscribe to your very own quarterly magazine about faith centered simply living!
And if you’re still here and reading, thank you. Thank you to all my clients, thank you to all my followers, friends and family who support this business of mine. It’s because of you I get to drive around town and see my work on a few billboards around town, and now even on a magazine, with more to come!
And a big thank you to my husband who always encourages me chase my dreams, I almost said no to all of this because I was scared, and didn’t know that I was worthy of such an opportunity. He said he had tears pulling this out of the mailbox ahead of Memorial Day weekend. Thank you will never be enough to the veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice. 🇺🇸
