Revelation & Co. Dance Technique

Revelation & Co. Dance Technique Providing quality dance technique in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Musical Theatre for ages 3 to adult in a Revelation & Co is owned and operated by TeNeil Spaeth.

TeNeil has a dance/arts management degree from Oklahoma City University, a college just named one of the top 10 dance schools in America. After teaching full time and managing a studio in Oklahoma City and directing the Spirit of Grace dance team at OCU, TeNeil was company manager for Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma and spent 3 seasons as company manager for Tulsa Opera. Upon moving back to rural Oklaho

ma, she founded and directed Praise Revolution, a liturgical dance team, and also started and directed a summer dance & musical theatre dance camp for kids called Dance Revelation. Revelation & Co. is founded on the premise that dance is art. It is God inspired and is a part of our lives to be a joy, a love, a grace. While dancers must be strong as any athlete, dance is subjective and not black-and-white like competitive sports. All that said, a strong foundation in proper dance technique is required if a dancer wants to progress to her full potential in the art of dance. It is the goal of Revelation & Co. to inspire beauty and greatness in every dancer while providing a strong foundation in dance alignment, placement, and footwork that makes up correct dance technique. At Revelation & Co., you will find a nurturing, professional, non-competitive, performing arts environment where the love of dance and all performing arts is cultivated and where art meets and, in turn, creates revelation in every aspect of a dancer's life.

I’ve gone back and forth but ice cream in damp cool weather in a soggy park doesn’t sound too fun. We will postpone until the start of the new dance year for a new beginning celebration in August. It was such an amazing dance year! We accomplished so much and I am so proud of everyone!

Judith Benesch will be playing the role of Temple Houston in R&C’s TEMPLE. Judy is in level 5 tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, and musical theatre, she is a teacher’s assistant in Combo A & B and Level 2, and she is a member of the Diamonds & Pearls Performance Company. This is her 8th year at R&C and her 3rd solo and main role in the spring show. Judy is also drum major for the WHS Marching Band and plays the flute. She will be performing a jazz solo to Unshaken. She has taken this role seriously - studying the life of Temple, learning more masculine movements, and rehearsing and rehearsing AND sacrificing her long nails!! Here are her own words about dance with R&C:

As I am approaching the end of my eighth year at R&C, I can’t help but reflect on how far I and all my day one dancers have come. I still remember the day in fourth grade that I was crying to my mom about the unfair treatment of another studio, and she asked me if wanted to switch dance studios. Since then, I have never once regretted my decision. I have learned so much from Mrs.TeNeil and my peers, that there is so way that words can explain how grateful I am for all of them. I am honored to be part of a show that TeNeil has been brainstorming for years, along with her believing in me for her vision that she’s had for so long. Please come and watch this amazing show that TeNeil and all of our dancers has worked so hard for!

R&C’s only Senior dancer Elizabeth Phillips is playing the role of Minnie Stacey in TEMPLE. This is her 9th year at R&C where she takes level 5 ballet, pointe, and jazz, she teaches level 1 ballet, tap, and jazz. She also is Mrs TeNeil’s assistant and team teaches Creative Movement. Elizabeth has also been a member of Diamonds & Pearls performance company since its inception. Let me tell you, this girl’s work ethic is top tier. She not only does all of that at the studio, but is also a barista at Twisters. When she first started dance, she was quiet and timid. She’s still pretty quiet, but her presence speaks louder than words. The stage loves her, and she is quite the storyteller through dance. This is her 5th solo and 5th time to play a main role in the spring show. Elizabeth will be performing a lyrical solo to 16 Carriages. Here are her own words about her time at R&C:

The past 9 years of dance at Revelation & Co have been wonderful and many many memories have been made. The bonds that have been created in the studio have changed me for the better and I can’t imagine who I would be without the people I dance with. When you enroll your child in Revelation & Co, you’re not only signing them up for dance classes, but also signing them up for lessons on confidence, grace, strength, and just an amazing support system.
The most important thing I’ve learned from my time with Mrs. TeNeil is how to be unapologetically myself. I am who God has created and intended me to be and I am the only one who can be me. At Revelation, we hold our heads up with strength and dance with grace and confidence. I am so grateful for how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown since I first began dancing with Revelation. I have the deepest love and appreciation for the girls I have grown with and I will miss them all so so much. Thank you all so much, and come watch my last show this Saturday!

Jolie Benesch will be playing the role of John E. Love in R&C’s TEMPLE this Saturday. Jolie is in Level 5 Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, and Musical Theatre, and she is a member of the Diamonds & Pearls Performance Company. This is her 8th year at R&C and her 2nd time to play a main role and do a solo in the spring concert. Jolie is also quite the high jumper and made it to the state level last weekend. She will be performing a jazz dance to This is Who We Are. Here are her own words about dance at R&C:

Dancing at Revelation has been a huge part of my life for 8 years. Dance has taught me patience, discipline, and how to push through even when things got hard. It has helped me shape my mindset and helped me understand that growth doesn’t come easy. Last year really tested that when I tore my ACL the week before our Choreography show. After spending so much time choreographing a dance for Level 5 with one of my dance friends, spending extra time after class choreographing for it, preparing it, and absolutely loving it, to then not being able to dance it myself was a hard blow. It felt like everything I had worked for went right out the window and all I could do was sit and watch while everyone else got to do what I loved. It was so frustrating and honestly heart breaking. I just remember sitting in the theater, wishing I was able to do what everyone else was doing. The recovery felt slow and exhausting and I had to remind myself that if I didn’t keep pushing, then I wasn’t going to get better. When I was finally able to come back, I saw dance differently. I now appreciate every practice more than ever. I’m thankful for everything Mrs. TeNeil does for me and every opportunity she gives us dancers.

You won’t want to miss it!

Playing the role of The Spirit of Grace is Ellie Keller. This is her FIFTH time to play a lead in the spring show and her TENTH year at R&C. She takes level 5 ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, and musical theatre, she is a member of Diamonds & Pearls Performance Company, and she is a teacher’s assistant in Level 3. Ellie will be performing a lyrical jazz to Grace. Here are her own words about dance at R&C:

Dance the only time I truly feel like myself, it is so vital to me. This is my 10th year at Revelation & Company where I have learned nothing but grit, resilience, integrity, empathy, perseverance, and so much more. Dance is a classic, poetic way to articulate among one another in such a disconnected world, we bypass language barriers that may be scary for some people and use our bodies as instruments to better understand each other. Dancing is the universal tongue that builds us up and allows us to feel seen, the pure landscape of the soul. Dance permits you to be vulnerable and brings you a sense of belonging. This art is a blend of athletic discipline and emotional representation. I have been utterly consumed by it since I was 2-years-old, this continues to be my escape from the real world. I have had so many opportunities with some of my favorite people including musicals, passionate performances, and working with professionals. I have a never ending gratitude for what I’ve learned and continue to learn here at R&C. It is truly a privilege to get to execute a gift that God has given us. I am honored to share the stage with the people I do, and am thrilled to see what He has planned for us.

Don’t miss this show!!

Kadence Boring will be playing the role of The Spirit of the Raven in R&C’s TEMPLE. Kadence is a sophomore at WHS, she takes Level 5 ballet, pointe, tap, and jazz, and she is a member of the Diamonds & Pearls performance company. Kadence is also very active in sports, including track in which she just competed at the state level. This is her third year to perform a main role in the spring concert. She will be performing a tap solo to Born to Lead. Here are her own words about dance at R&C:

Dance is the biggest part of my life. It lets me express things I can’t say and pushes me to grow. I’m grateful for the friendships I’ve made because the girls I have met are my biggest supporters and closest friends. Dance has taught me not to just go through the motions of life, but to actually live them. It is like doing the choreography instead of letting go and truly dancing. Dance is more than just something to do. For me, it is part of who I am.

Madeline Waggoner plays the Spirit of the Eagle in R&C’s TEMPLE on Saturday, May 16 at 10a and 2p. Maddie (as I call her) is in Level 5 ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and musical theatre, and she is a member of R&C’s Diamonds & Pearls Performance Company. This is her second year to have a solo and play a main role in the dance concert. She will be performing a jazz dance to Free Bird. Maddie is one of two dancers who have been here since the beginning! 12 YEARS!! Here are her own words about dance at R&C:

This will be my 12th year dancing at R&C, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I have learned so many things, whether it’s to not sickle my feet, or valuable life lessons from Miss TeNeil. Dance brings me joy, peace, comfort, and so many other positive things. Dance has truly shaped me into the person I am today, and I don’t know who or where I would be without it. The people I have met through dance are some of the most important people in my life, and I’m forever thankful for all of them. TeNeil is one of the most inspiring women I know, and I strive to be half as amazing as her. I am so excited to do another show and I hope everyone is excited to watch!

Come see her shine!!
