Northwest Oklahoma is the home of Wes Sander's herd of longhorns, The Slash -O- Ranch Longhorns, which started with the purchase of 50 steers headed to the slaughterhouse at an auction in Shamrock, Texas. Since their first rodeo, they have appeared in movies, cattle drives, rodeos and parades, all bringing a piece of America's Wild West history to all who are fortunate enough to see them. Their ap

Join us this weekend for the annual Stockyards Stampede! Stockyards City Main Street would like to invite everyone to attend the annual Stockyards Stampede event that will be held on Saturday, October 18th!

The Slash O' Ranch Longhorns will kick off the event at 10:00 a.m. by parading down the street. They will begin at the iconic Oklahoma National Stockyards archway on Exchange. The longhorns will be in the National Saddlery Arena until 2 pm, then they will return to Oklahoma National Stockyards, via Agnew.

An authentic Chuck Wagon camp will be set up where you can view demonstrations of traditional cooking. At noon, samplings of cobbler, stew, cornbread and more will be on hand. The Chuck Wagon camp is south of Ol' Glory Hat Company, 1111 South Agnew.

Live entertainment will be at Rodeo Cinema, 2221 Exchange Avenue. The Dalby's will be performing at 10:30 am; Maddox Ross at 1 pm; Cowboy Jim Garling at 2 pm; and Tanner Fields and his band will be playing at 3 pm.

The Little Miss and Mr. Stockyards City Pageant will also be held at Rodeo Cinema. Registration is from 10:45 am to 11:45 am. The pageant will begin at noon.

A Made in Oklahoma Market will include locally made and produced items. Various types of demonstrations and tastings will be held throughout the day. The Market will be next to Little Joe’s Boots.

The Kids Corral will have many fun activities for kids of all ages! Located adjacent to the National Saddlery Arena, 2200 S.W. 13th Street, there will be a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, and dummy roping. It will also be an opportunity to learn about the importance of agriculture in Oklahoma.

Next to Shorty’s Caboy Hattery, 1007 South Agnew, a Western Photo Booth will be set up.

This will be a perfect opportunity to experience all that is Stockyards City! Visit the restaurants, shops, and get pictures of the things you can only see in Stockyards City!

The entire event is family friendly. Join us on Saturday, October 18th for this year's Stockyards Stampede.
