I'm excited to say that...

Many of our own bred dahlias (this is one of them & would love to know what you think) are starting to emerge from the ground in those new raised beds my husband made!

So excited to see how they perform this year!

Another seedling... what do you think of her? I almost tossed this one the first year, but I'm glad I kept her as she was way better the 2nd year. This year will be her 3rd season.

You can see how I'm desperately trying to keep these babies alive in my stories today & I can hardly wait for our water pump to arrive tomorrow.

In the meantime, you can find me bent over a trickling hose watering our very thirsty ground in our different zinnia patches.

🇺🇸 What if they never gave their life?...

We would not have the freedom to worship God according to conscience. Many of the freedoms Americans hold dear today — the ability to openly pray, gather in churches, speak about faith, and live according to deeply held beliefs — were protected by generations willing to stand and sacrifice. Without those who fought for liberty, governments could have controlled religion, silenced convictions, or punished those who believed differently.

We would not have the right to speak freely without fear. The freedom to voice opinions, publish ideas, disagree with leaders, and stand for truth did not come without cost. Countless men and women laid down their lives so future generations could live in a nation where words are not chained by tyranny. Without their sacrifice, fear and silence could have replaced open expression.

We would not have a united nation.
Especially through the terrible losses of the American Civil War, lives were given to preserve the Union itself. Without those sacrifices, America may have splintered permanently into divided nations, weakened and fractured instead of standing together as one country.

We would not enjoy the everyday freedoms so easily taken for granted. The ability to raise families in peace, vote, own property, pursue dreams, travel freely, and build businesses all rests upon freedoms defended by those who served. Behind every ordinary American day is an extraordinary price paid by people who never came home.

We would not have the legacy of courage that continues to inspire generations. From the American Revolutionary War to later wars throughout American history, those who sacrificed gave more than their lives — they left an example of bravery, duty, perseverance, and love for others. Their willingness to place future generations above themselves still calls people today to live with gratitude, responsibility, and honor.

Remember them and be grateful!!
