What makes your soul happy?
I’ve always LOVED flowers. Since I was a little girl my grandmother instilled in me a love of flowers. And I’ve always loved buying flowers and putting together floral arrangements. I dreamt as a little girl of having a flower shop one day.
Of course, I’ve always, always loved people and grew up with having a father that’s a surgeon and decided to pursue medicine - spending years as a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology nurse and then years as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Then grew a successful health and wellness coaching business.
In 2020 and 2021, my family navigated through several back to back traumatic events and life felt upside down for a while. I was hurting and lost in many ways. Flowers brought me healing. I would go to Trader Joe’s and buy tons of flowers and spend hours making arrangements for our family, friends and neighbors. I would experience such joy and peace in those moments.
After some encouragement from friends and family, I decided to start my floral business in October of 2022. Honestly if you told me then what would happen in the three years since I would absolutely not believe you! It has felt like a wild ride, but the best kind of ride. Definitely ups and downs, but so worth it!
After helping my amazing Aunt Mitzie with my brother’s wedding florals in December 2022 I knew that I had found my calling. I LOVED doing wedding flowers. In 2023 I did florals for 20 weddings and in 2024 we experienced a huge growth in our business doing 50 weddings, being in two retail stores (.ga and ), and then opened our own shop, .and.bloom in November of 2024 in downtown Woodstock! We are thrilled with the response from our community since opening our shop and have loved getting to do even more weddings this year and so excited for what’s to come!
