Being 22 weeks pregnant and too paranoid to walk outside (thx omicron🙄), I finally have time to pursue a dream of mine (drumroll please…)—

becoming a VIDEO BUSINESS EDUCATOR 🎥

hey hello hi still alive here 👋

the last two months have been jam-packed but so much fun!! (Lots of fun = lots of EDITING too😂) That being said, I have a NEW film coming out NEXT WEEK. My absolute favorite part about it is the letter reading portion, so prepare the tissues!!

I’m living my dream job.

today I’m sitting here editing a wedding film from last week, and I have to pinch myself thinking that I get to do what I love for a living. all of the support I’ve received from the wedding community, my couples, and other creatives/vendors has exceeded all that I had imagined.

thank y’all for the love, and for sharing your stories with me. truly, there’s no greater honor than being trusted to craft your love stories on film. and the beautiful reviews that come in are what make my job all the more sweet and fulfilling. ☺️

I think it’s about time I introduce myself again! Wedding season has just begun and I want to be a familiar face for all of my brides!

• My name is Sydney Smith (hence the name “Smithhouse”) and I was born and raised here in NorCal! I feel lucky to have grown up in such a beautiful place and community, makes my job so much easier!!

• I originally went to school thinking I would be a nurse, graduated with a journalism degree, and now I’m the sole proprietor of my wedding videography business so you never really know where life will take you , huh? I love where I ended up! 🎥

• If you’ve booked me for your wedding, you’re going to meet my super attractive second shooter (my husband Travis haha). He’s my other half and cheers me on in all my ambitious goals! (Which I have too many of but it’s okay hahaha)

• I LOVE videography. Like, a lot. I obsess over getting a perfect shot with perfect colors and motivated lighting. I want your video to be moving, I want it to move me as well! I’m awestruck when I see the love between two people who are perfect for each other, and that’s what makes this job so fulfilling ☺️

• I am not a pineapple on pizza kind of gal, I’m sorry but it had to be said 😮

🎞 On the same note, if you are thinking about hiring a videographer for your wedding, the best thing you can do is reach out to me now rather than later! I have had a TON of inquiries recently with COVID restrictions lifting, so make sure to inquire to reserve your spot.
