What is a wedding details box?

A details box on a wedding day is a container you put together for your photographer with all the special things you want photographed on the day.

How does a details box help?

Instead of your photographer looking for each item individually, they’re all in one place. It’s much easier to grab the box and start shooting.

Items to put in your details box:

1. A note to your photographer with a checklist of the items in the box that you’d love documented
2. Full invitation suite
3. Rings + Ring box
4. Personal vow books
5. Family or personal bible of its being read out of during the ceremony
6. Perfume + Cologne used on the day
7. Ribbon + Loose Florals
8. Jewelry + Details from both partners
9. Special gifts to one another
10. Something new, something borrowed, something blue

These are just some of the ideas you can put in your wedding details box to your photographer.

Happy planning 🤍

One of the questions I get asked most is how I choose session locations, so today I’m going to tell you!

I’m looking for places that are:

-Open spaces
-Semi-private so clients feel comfortable
-Feel like Colorado (mountains, fields, rocks, and beautiful views)

Bonus: Easy kid friendly hikes

The location matters a ton when it comes to the overall outcome of the photos.

Open spaces not only give room for the fun playful shots, but it also gives a beautiful dreamy look to photos.

Photos turn out amazing when families feel comfortable and not spending the entire session worrying stared at the entire time.

The location actually feeling like Colorado is one of the most important things for my business. We get so many people from out of state who schedule family photos with the dream of Colorado scenery in the background. If you’re a photographer, choosing locations that feel like your area will bring more clientele opportunities!

What are some things you want when you’re looking for the perfect location for photos?

About 14 years as a photographer, 12 years as a wedding photographer. I’ve photographed all over Oregon, Wyoming, Washington and now Colorado. This life has moved me around a lot, but I love how many areas we’ve been able to live and enjoy along the journey! 🥰 Colorado is our forever home now 🙌🏼🏔️

Please tell me I’m not the only one with a horrifying story during a wedding! 😅 Embarrassing wedding photography story… The moment I almost quit! 😂

As a mom you hardly get to be apart of your families digital memories. It’s so important to give someone a camera once in a while to be apart of your children’s memories. Hug on them. Love on them. Document every moment along side them. You’re an important part of their life too. ❤️

Little did I know that browsing Walmarts camera display and dreaming of owning a camera someday actually was extremely telling on me becoming a photographer someday. Not to mention how many times I had my friends pose for photos while I photographed from my dinky point and shoot camera. Lol.

I love making people feel something through my photography. Happiness, self worth and a sense of belonging.

I want others to love who they are and be proud of the life they’ve made. Who they became.

From starting out in the PNW to moving to Colorado to some of the most incredible sites I’ve ever seen. I’m happy with the life I’ve created. I’m honored to document so many stories over the 14 years of doing this job!

If you hate family photos… this is for you!

Most people don’t actually hate photos…
they hate how photos usually feel.

Stiff. Forced. Stressful.

That’s exactly what I aim to change.

My sessions are designed to feel real…
Full of movement, play, connection, instead of pressure.

And to be honest? That’s when the best photos happen 🤍

Hey there, I’m Brandi!

I’m a Colorado Springs family photographer!
I specialize in:

✨ Kids having the freedom to be themselves
✨ Family sessions that are stress-free
✨ Photos that actually feel real

Because I photograph families the way I believe childhood should feel. Full of fun, love, connection, freedom, and being completely yourself!

My sessions never consist of stiff and forced posing. I never make kids sit down and be quiet. With me, I encourage kids to be kids. There is no pressure to be perfect. Just real moments you’ll want to hold onto forever!

Your family session should be fueled with fun, giggles, and a little bit of chaos. These are the moments that document the now. These memories are the moments that will soon flash before your eyes.

If you want photos that feel like your real life,
the love, the chaos and all those little moments… then you’re in the right place! Welcome to where I document the real, instead of what social media thinks you should be!

If this sounds like a session experience you’ve been missing, I would love to show you how family photos should feel! 🤍

Warmly,
Brandi
