The Washington Bee Atlas, a project of our Pollinator Program, is launching a new initiative to tell the story of how farms and other agricultural landowners are supporting native bees β€” and how bees are supporting our farms and food systems!

We're looking for agricultural landowners to sign up for the program which will allow our trained volunteers to collect native bees on their farms.

If you are a photographer, you can participate, too by taking photos of native bees on farms. Check out our latest blog to learn more at https://agr.wa.gov/about-wsda/blog-posts?article=47036

SV Grange member, , grew up next to Stony Hill School in Waubeka, Wisconsin, and remembers celebrating Flag Day fondly throughout her youth. The School, as the location of the first formal observation of Flag Day, honors Bernard J. Cigrand who since the late 1880’s spoke across the country about respect for the flag and the need for annual observance on June 14th. This was the day in 1777 that the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes.

Brenda, along with all the Grange members, invite you to help us celebrate Flag Day this Sunday, June 14th, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Grange Hall in Woodinville, WA. For details, the program and to RSVP visit svgrange.org.

June is National Pollinator Month, and communities across America have a lot to thank pollinators for. Bees, butterflies, birds, bats, and other pollinators help support the crops and plants that feed our families, strengthen local agriculture, and keep ecosystems healthy.

Across the country, pollinators are essential partners in agriculture and food production. Without them, many of the fruits, vegetables, nuts, and flowers we rely on would struggle to grow.

This month, we are celebrating the small creatures that make a big impact on our communities and encouraging Granges everywhere to think about how we can support pollinator-friendly spaces in our hometowns.

How is your Grange supporting pollinators, gardening, conservation, or local agriculture this summer? Share your photos, projects, and ideas in the comments! 🐝🌻
