As a wedding officiant
My religious views may or may not matter to you.

I currently believe, having a scientific mind that investigated archeology, that a person named Jesus, raised in the town of Nazareth but born in Bethlehem because of required traveling for a Census... really lived and performed wondrous deeds (Roman history account) or sorcery (Talmud account) in the time period described in the New Testament of the Bible. (Born approx December 25th 7AD, ministry 28 AD to approx 34 AD).
His followers and relatives had DEATH to gain by telling these stories which persist today, published somewhere between 36AD to 72AD at absolute latest.

I also believe Romans 14:13-14, with all my heart.
"Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. 14 I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean."

If your path is not my path, I intend to put no stumbling block in your way.
Something is unclean mostly for you participating in it while also considering it unclean. If you truly do not consider it so, perhaps to you it truly is not so.
There would be obvious exceptions, when you are not just violating a tradition or ritual but literally hurting others.

I do not know your path.
Mine had wended unexpectedly.

But while I display this honesty about my beliefs, know I do not require you to share them, nor would I DARE the utter disrespect of preaching things you don't agree with on YOUR day.
Should I have the Joy of performing this service again.

I might add
It was the first ceremony, completely secular but completely personal, that so Deeply moved me to be willing to consider some 'unrealistic' ideas that had already started to creep in... That gave me feelings I had not had since I was a child...

In a few weeks I'll be honored to officiate a wedding for the 3rd time!

Well, I'm a real officiant now.
Besides writing my own wedding and vow renewal ceremonies, I was deeply moved by the recent experience of officiating the wedding of my stepdaughter and new (step)son-in-law.

I have no idea if anyone took a video. I really hope so. I eagerly await the professional photos. I am skeptical I will ever be able to give such a personal speech again, but the experience of officiating, of serving the couple in this way and watching joy bloom all around me... I would do it again!

Hopefully some good pictures will turn up from the ceremony that include myself who was (correctly) obstructed from view for many of the guests...

If you know someone who needs an officiant, feel free to pass my information along if you think I'd be a good fit for them.

My own religious views are complex and not fixed. I was raised Christian and still greatly respect that faith but no longer believe enough of it to be a Christian. I try to practice kindness like a religion. I find contentment in performing a needed service well.

I hold a deep respect for nature and spend a lot of time outside. I also spend a lot of time with animals. This connection to nature, and being a Dungeons and Dragons playing nerd, makes me think of myself as an aspiring druid.

I'd happily do outdoor weddings, weddings with dogs, nerdy themed ceremonies, celtic themed ceremonies. My own wedding was medieval themed with celtic inspired vows.

I can't imagine any other wedding will ever move me so much to perform as this last one did; but I'll try to make every wedding perfect for the couple getting married.
