Course Maintenance Update | Aerification Schedule

To keep Wolf Mountain Golf Course in top shape and ensure the best playing conditions for all of our guests, we’ll be performing aerification these next two days. Here is what you can expect:

Tomorrow (Tuesday) we will be aerifying the back nine, so the front nine will remain open for play.

Wednesday we will switch over and aerify the front nine, with the back nine open for play.

We know aerification isn’t always the most exciting news, but it’s a crucial part of keeping our greens healthy, smooth, and beautiful for the long term—and we appreciate your understanding as we invest in the course for your benefit.

Why Aeration Matters for Golf Courses

Improves Turf Health: Aeration allows air, water, and nutrients to reach the root zone, promoting stronger, deeper root growth.

Reduces Compaction: Over time, foot traffic and mowing compact the soil. Aeration loosens it, helping the grass "breathe" and grow more effectively.

Enhances Drainage: By breaking up the surface, aeration helps water move more freely through the soil, preventing puddles and soggy spots.

Promotes Faster Recovery: Healthier turf recovers more quickly from wear and tear—meaning smoother greens and better playability.

Reduces Thatch Buildup: Aeration breaks through thatch layers, preventing disease and promoting even growth.
