If the invitation says 4:00pm, what time should you arrive? Hint… not 4pm 😉
For a wedding ceremony, the listed time is when the ceremony begins… not when guests should still be parking. Arriving early gives you time to find the venue, drop off your card or gift, use the restroom, find your seat, and settle in before the processional.
Our suggestion? Aim to arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony begins.
Being extra early isn’t helpful, either. Arriving an hour+ ahead can interrupt final preparations, photos, or a private moment before the celebration begins. If you find yourself quite early, give everyone space to finish getting ready. Wait until the bar opens to request a drink, leave the appetizers untouched until service begins, and save catching up with the couple for later. They may look ready, but this isn't a good time to chat - trust us.
And if you’re running late? Follow the venue or coordinator’s guidance before entering. A brief wait is better than stepping into the middle of the walk down the aisle.
Our hot take: if you can make it to your dentist appointment on time, you can make it to a wedding on time, too. 😉
