UNCSA Dance Costume Shop

UNCSA Dance Costume Shop We are the professional Costume Shop to the UNCSA School of Dance. (336)770-3211 For more information, call 336 -770-3211.

The UNCSA Dance Costume Shop is the professional costume shop of the School of Dance. Since early in the School’s history, the elevated quality of performances presented by the School of Dance has demanded a full time staff to focus solely on constructing dancewear for both Contemporary and Ballet productions. Our costumes, ranging from classical tutus to intricate stretch-wear, are often requeste

d for rental by both pre-professional dance schools and professional companies around the country. Costumes in our stock include the re-constructions of classic pieces from Balanchine to Cunningham, as well as new designs by renowned designers such as David Huval and Eduardo Sicangco, and local designers including Carolyn Fay and Kathryn Grillo. Providing our students and our audience members the opportunity to experience the splendor of exemplary dance costumes is a passion that we continue to uphold since the original vision of Christina Gianinni, the shop’s founding Dance Costume Designer. The Dance Costume Shop is open during the school year, Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.

As another busy school year draws to a close we here at the Dance Costume Shop have to pause to say a few well deserved Thank Yous. Thank you to all of our Volunteers but especially Tim, Sandy and Jenna who's dedication and skill have made every costume you saw this year possible. Thank you to our 10 Work Study students who gave so much of their precious time to help make their fellow students costumes (and very often even their own costume) shine on stage. Bon Voayge to all of our students heading off to new adventures and to our Dearest Mara and Alexis, you will always have a home here at the Dance Costume Shop!

David Heuvel, the Costume Production Director at Ballet West, has worked with international stars such as Margot Fonteyn, Natalia Makarova, Merle Park and Violette…
