Built in 1903, the Carlock House is the only home in Winnsboro recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. With its virgin heart-pine framing and original heirlooms preserved completely intact, it stands as a rare surviving time capsule where turn-of-the-century high society collided with raw frontier grit.

So far in our Carlock House Museum series, we’ve explored the architecture, the East Texas lumber boom, and 123 years of preservation.

What a wonderful day celebrating 30 years of Oaklea Mansion as a Bed & Breakfast! 🥂🤍

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us today. It was such a joy hearing your stories and memories of Oaklea, reconnecting with familiar faces, and meeting so many new friends.

For 30 years, Oaklea has had the privilege of welcoming guests to Winnsboro, and today was a beautiful reminder that this house is about so much more than its history—it’s about the people who have walked through her doors and become part of her story.

Thank you for celebrating this special Pearl Anniversary with us and for being part of Oaklea’s story. Here’s to the memories already made and all those still to come! 🤍✨

🪿🌸 Meet the newest lady of Oaklea Mansion! 🌸🪿

We’re delighted to introduce our new porch goose! She’s already settling right in and looking perfectly at home next to the staircase inside the house. 💕

And of course, a special lady needs a special outfit! She has a beautiful, made-just-for-her dress and the sweetest hat, lovingly created by Silly Little Things. 🎀👒

We think she adds just the right touch of charm and whimsy to Oaklea Mansion—and we can’t wait for all of you to meet her!
