Social media is loud this time of year. Awards, titles, “best of” lists, and sponsored posts are everywhere—but it’s important to remember there is no governing body in our industry and no standardization that enforces these claims. Many of these “awards” are simply pay-to-play marketing tools.
To our fellow professionals:
Don’t beat yourself up scrolling past them. Your work, your reputation, and your relationships speak far louder than any purchased badge ever could.
To clients:
The most credible recommendations still come from venues, planners, trusted vendor partners, and referrals from people who have actually worked together—not from ads.
The best advertising has never changed:
👉 real relationships, earned trust, and word-of-mouth that isn’t paid for.
That’s what lasts.
