Five years ago today… the world had woken up to hear more and more about this thing called Covid-19. I was at The Special Event conference, in Las Vegas, and took this picture at a late night Kareoke Bar. Five days later, the world was shut down and event restrictions were in place across the country. You never know what’s around the corner.

UPDATE: The USPS and Event Industry
The USPS has announced that they will be making changes to save $36 billion over 10 years, but this may cause MORE delays in delivering mail (yikes). Therefore, to support our beautiful invitation and stationary companies, we should adjust our timelines for mail.
Save the Dates - mail 7-9 months prior
Invitations - mail 10-12 weeks prior
Response Cards - request responses 5-6 weeks prior

If you are friends with me or have read my book, you’ll know that I was a live music photographer before I was a event planner. There’s a magic when you capture a moment that can never be replicated exactly the same way. I appreciate the talents of my photographer colleagues, as every event they are looking for those moments to provide to our clients.

I still carry a camera on events, but it’s in my phone. With the client permission, I capture a reel for each client and try to post it the very same night as the wedding. I also try to snap off a few pictures each event in search of amazing moments like this. Creativity and passion never has to end… sometimes it just has to be refocused in a new direction.
