Today, the ladies at City Hall had the pleasure of welcoming two very special visitors, Miss Iris Aletha Ryan (Abbott) and her son, Mark Abbott.
Miss Iris, now 94 years young, lived in Wink from 1935 to 1940, arriving at the age of 3 and spending some of her childhood years here before moving away. Now residing in Oklahoma, she and Mark (from Florida), made the journey back to Wink to revisit cherished memories and see how our wonderful little town has grown over the years.
Although they just missed our Centennial Celebration, we were delighted to have the opportunity to visit with them and hear about their connection to Wink. We only wish they could have joined us for such a historic occasion.
We thank Miss Iris and Mark for stopping by and sharing part of their story with us. We wish them safe travels as they continue their adventures and an easy journey back home. 🩷

On behalf of the Centennial Committee, Addison and Gina presented the Wink High School Band Boosters with a certificate of appreciation along with a check donation in recognition of their outstanding support during our Centennial celebration. 🧡
The Wink Band Boosters generously provided and operated a bouncy house for the event at no cost to families and also distributed free candy throughout the day, choosing not to profit from their participation so that the focus remained on community celebration and enjoyment. 😊
We are truly grateful for their kindness, generosity, and spirit of service. We hope this contribution helps support their continued efforts and the valuable work they do for our students and community! 🧡 🖤 🧡

🌟 Today, we would like to recognize Braxton Alderson for his exceptional dedication and hard work before and during our Centennial Celebration. On behalf of the Centennial Committee, Kelen and Gina were honored to present Braxton with a certificate and a check in appreciation of his many contributions to the success of the event.
Braxton was always ready to step in wherever he was needed, ensuring that guests and volunteers were taken care of, providing transportation, and handling every task with enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility. Throughout the celebration, Braxton consistently demonstrated initiative.
The check presented to Braxton is a small expression of our gratitude that will help contribute to his scholarship fund as he continues pursuing his educational goals. We look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes in the years ahead.
His parents have raised a respectful, hardworking, and thoughtful young man whose character made a positive impression on everyone he met.
We are thankful for all he did for this historic event and proud to recognize the difference he made.
Thank you, Braxton, for your time and effort. Your willingness to serve others helped make this celebration a memorable occasion for everyone involved. ⭐️ 🌟 💫

Tonight marked our final Centennial Committee meeting, and we celebrated the occasion with Texas Roadhouse rolls! Thank you, Stormy, for bringing them!❤️ This was a small detail that became a memorable inside joke throughout the planning process!😜

As we close this chapter, we want to thank everyone who dedicated their time, energy, and effort to making the Centennial Celebration such a success. Over the past year, countless hours were spent planning, organizing, coordinating, and working behind the scenes to create an event our community could be proud of.

While the celebration itself may be over, the memories, friendships, and experiences made along the way will last far beyond this year. It has been an honor to be part of something so meaningful for our community!!

Thank you again to everyone who helped make the Centennial Celebration one to remember!!🧡🧡🧡

We may be wrapping up Centennial planning, but there is still more ahead for our community! We hope to see everyone at National Night Out on August 7th! Stay tuned for details!🖤💙
