It's time to stop asking if you're getting enough protein. The truth is, Americans are getting roughly 20% more on average than we need.‼️It's time to start asking, "Where is my protein coming from?"

👉 Has less than 400mg of sodium per serving
👉 Has at least 3 grams of fiber per serving and is fortified when it makes sense

From farm to plate, a foodshed is where food is grown, how it travels, and the markets and tables it arrives at. Think of it like a watershed, which describes the flow of water!

A resilient local food network is important to help those communities and economies navigate shocks without disrupting supply chains while also building climate resilience through sustainable, regenerative farming practices.

Fall is around the corner, and this is what to expect from your farmers' market hauls as we approach colder weather:
🫑 Add bell peppers to soup or stuff with filling and roast
💜 Become Ratatouille and cook eggplant with last of the season tomatoes and zucchini
🍎 Eat your favorite local varietals of apples fresh from the market
☝️ Cut parsnips into matchsticks and roast them with your favorite seasonings
🎃 Embrace the versatility of butternut squash by roasting and mashing it and then using it everything from pasta to soup
🌱 Roast Brussels sprouts cut side up until browned and toss in your favorite seasonings after roasting
💚 Prepare celery root by cutting off the gnarled parts and peeling it, then enjoy it raw in salads or roast with other root vegetables
