Most of our music community has heard that my old LIVE BAIT bandmate Mackie Redd suddenly lost his dear wife Kathy this week. Back in the early years of Stage 5, Mackie graced Stage 5 with his amazing songwriting prowess in the Live Bait band and in his solo sets. It has been a busy few months .. but I had a bit of time to repurpose one of Bob Dorman's old speaker stands from Stage 5 into this Christmas tree.

Well after removing all of the packaging and consolidating collected strings from the Walnut Valley Festival, Stage 6 and Stage 5 we ended up with nearly 30 pounds of instrument strings to recycle. Thanks to Stage 6 and the WVA for great help with this endeavor. Next step ship them off to Terra-Cycle for recycling and it is time to start collecting for next year. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort. I think for the first year of this project we did pretty good ... it's a LOT of strings!!!
