“Why did you hire me?”

I love asking this question during onboarding calls. And I think I got my most favorite answer the other day:

“Because you are a real person”

Honestly, it took me a bit by surprise. This client of mine has been through so many agencies, third-party companies to find a $7/hour international VA (you know what I’m talking about right?). And that just wasn’t a good fit for her.

I assured her I am very much a real person. Laughing, breathing, living.

So, if you’re sick of hearing really inexpensive offers and having to delegate tasks down to the most meticulous detail, due to language barriers- we’re here. Real, living, breathing and incredibly talented VAs (not just me, but my peers too).

Normally this time of year I’d grab a fresh notebook, a new calendar, a huge coffee, and map out all the big, scary goals for the year ahead—because that’s what I was taught to do.

But this year? I had zero desire. None. And it made me pause.

I realized it’s because I became so intentional in 2025. Who I worked with, how I built my business, and how I structured my life. I let go of hustle and moved into harmony. Harmony in who I serve, how I serve, and sticking close to my purpose: supporting small businesses well.

If hustle culture works for you, amazing. It’s just not for me 🙅‍♀️ and I’m finding many small business owners feel the same. They want more life, less grind.

A solo-preneur (as I like to call them) hired me as her event coordinator for an upcoming workshop she’s hosting. We hopped on a catch up call today to discuss the logistics of off-loading tasks. The result? More time for her to focus on growing the event and helping clients and less time on her keyboard managing the moving parts 💻 AKA less stress for her.

A few weeks ago I met with a potential new client. She told me the biggest thing that drew her to me was that I’m a “real person”.

I assured her I am. I’m a mom, believer, business owner, professional, Type A, perfectionist. I won’t always meet a 12 hour deadline because I refuse to put a social media post before my family.

And you know what’s awesome? All 8 of my current clients get it, respect it and support it. 🥰 We deal with enough as working moms, I refuse to support and work for anyone who doesn’t believe life is within these moments. ♥️

Happy One Year to Ro&Co! 🎉🥳

From the minute I “opened” my doors I have been blessed with the most wonderful clients 🫶🏻

From therapists, handymen, beef producers, dog breeders, doctors and everything in between- I have truly loved every one of them. And an extra special shout out to the friends and family who cheer me on and share my name- without you, I’d be lost. 🤍
