The American Flag.
This is a real and heartwarming story: When I was interviewing for this Executive Director position at the Windber Grand Ballroom, Ron, the Borough Manager asked me what I wanted.
I looked around and could not see one, so I said, along with the specific salary, and benefits, I would like an American Flag in the Ballroom.
Now how many people would negotiate for an American Flag in their work contract? I did from my heart and soul because I love this Country and having a Father whom is an American hero serving our Nation under this Flag, under God… this is the essence of being American.
Happy to share that as of last week,
in time for my birthday, and the JWF picnic, we received the pole and stand.
Thanks to JoAnn Trabold and her husband for helping me (and our team, Clyde and Rose), to place Old Glory securely on the pole on the stage of this “Grand Lady,” (what I lovingly refer to this Grand Ballroom).
Talk about Stage Presence: Now she stands proudly and prominently, on stage.
I am happy beyond words…
Good salary, good Benes, Great American Flag! 🇺🇸
PS. Also asked for a Commonwealth
of PA Flag. We have the Flag, now awaiting the pole and stand. And, it will join this American Flag on stage.
Next time you negotiate, negotiate for a legacy piece, just like me:)
I pledge allegiance…..
Peace. Love. God bless America!
