Looking back at these memories gets me a little emotional. I have no shame in sharing how QB started, because it all began with my brats.
When we started, I was a mom of 4, homeless after leaving a DV situation, doing everything I could to make ends meet. One summer, I was stressed trying to figure out how I was going to afford school supplies for my kids.
While going through our storage, trying to find things we could sell, we found a little snow cone machine I had been gifted for Christmas. My kids had an idea: “Mom, let’s sell snow cones!”
I was hesitant. It was completely outside my comfort zone. But my kids believed in the idea. They put their own money together to buy the flavors, and we started small… setting up in family members’ front yards and at soccer fields.
Little by little, we grew. We added more options, got our cart built, and slowly built relationships with the people who supported us along the way.
What started as a way to buy school supplies became the beginning of something so much bigger. ❤️
And as corny as this may sound, my Quarto Brats will forever be my motivation in life. They were there at the beginning, they believed when I was scared, and they remind me every day why I keep going. ☺️
