September went by fast! 😵‍💫The month provided lots of opportunities to figure out how to do things better, and it ended in the best way- with Pride! LOL We had a bit of a blower mishap for our bouncer, but 1-2-3 Jump of Myrtle Beach came through to help us out and we are so grateful! It was so validating seeing all the children have fun, and doubly so seeing parents get a moment to sit down and relax during a festival! October is officially underway, and thank you to everyone who has followed or inquired- we couldn't do this without you!

Join Pride Myrtle Beach at the Third Annual Pride in the Park Festival presented by Careteam+ on Saturday September 30th from 11am until 7pm in beautiful Valor Park in the Market Common District of Myrtle Beach, SC. This free annual event will be filled with live bands, diverse vendors and community services as well as food vendors from around the region. All schools in Horry are closed- get the board games and flash lights ready just in case ☺️

On Thursday, August 31, 2023, all Horry County Schools (HCS) facilities will be closed for all students due to the forecast for inclement weather related to Hurricane/Tropical Storm Idalia. However, HCS will operate on Thursday with an eLearning day for all students. School staff members will provide directions for students regarding Thursday’s eLearning day.

All extracurricular competitions (athletic and other extracurricular) scheduled for Wednesday, August 30, 2023, and Thursday, August 31, 2023, are canceled. However, practice events (athletic and other extracurricular) scheduled to take place on a school campus may continue on Wednesday after school if weather conditions permit.

Because HCS is approved by the South Carolina Department of Education as an eLearning district, this eLearning day will not have to be made up. Students who are unable to participate due to power outages, lack of internet service, or other barriers will have the opportunity to complete assignments at a later date. HCS anticipates a safe return to school on Friday, September 1st; however, HCS will continue to monitor weather conditions. For updates, please monitor the HCS website or visit HCS on social media outlets.
