To our followers - I am devastated. 2 of my DonutNV trucks were hit yesterday by a driver - no one was hurt or killed somehow by the grace of god, however I don't know what else to say besides I am beyond crushed and I need help. Yes we are fully insured however it will not put a dent in the financial devastation that this will cause our businesses and my family, especially during busy season.
The only thing I can think of - as people have been calling and reaching out asking what they can do for us - is to beg everyone to please come up to our sister business Sweet Lucy's Ice Cream & Treats and buy ice cream this summer, and the sooner the better as we sort this out. Please order a custom ice cream cake, please do a Cake It Forward, buy gift cards, just show up. We are in the middle of busy season and not having 2 of my trucks operable ... is beyond heartbreaking. I've worked so hard to get to the point where I am just to be completely wrecked by something this massive and out of my control. I don't ask for help ever, but I am now. There is no go fund me, I think that's tacky for situations like this. I am just so crushed. I do so much for our little community and I try so hard to be a pillar and the go to for anyone who has ever asked for help and now I am the one asking for help.
I don't want to cut my staff's hours, I am just in shock and trying to sort this all out. My anxiety is through the roof, my mind is spiraling, and I'm terrified for what this is going to do to my family's finances. Please just come buy ice cream that's the only thing I can think of. We are not looking for handouts. Everything we have, we have worked for, saved for, and earned.
Any events that we have to cancel, we will reach out to you directly. We still have 1 truck that is operable and we will continue to make parties sweet and keep the people cool with our lemonades. We do not know yet if they are totaled or repairable, but we will update our sweet customers as soon as we have more details. Please be patient with me as I am tackling calls and inquiries as fast as I can anyway, and this entire situation just puts a huge roadblock up for us.
Please just come up and buy ice cream, book the sno truck, or the 1 donut truck we still have, share the post, whatever you can do to help is so deeply appreciated right now.
