Hi, it’s me Officiant Sherri 🥳
So far, 2026 has been another yr. of growth (personally + professionally), and another yr. filled with love, gratitude, and amazing couples + fellow wedding vendors - who trust me to show up fully. So I just wanted to pop-up in your feed to say, “Thank you!”

I often say that as a former journalist, I can write about almost anything… other than myself 😂 So in lieu of a “Friday but it’s Tuesday Introduction” I’ll share this review from one of my beloved couples🤩

“We are so happy we found Sherri to officiate our wedding at The Atrium on June 5, 2026! I actually found her on Instagram, and our planner also spoke so highly of her that we knew we had to reach out. From our very first call, my husband Justin and I knew she was the perfect fit.

Sherri has the warmest, brightest energy, and you can immediately tell how much she genuinely loves what she does. She took the time to really get to know us, asked all the right questions, and created a ceremony that felt so personal and true to who we are as a couple. It never felt generic it felt like our story which is exactly what we wanted!

Beyond being an incredible officiant, Sherri is just such a kind and thoughtful person. She always remembered to ask about our dog, Matcha, and it was little touches like that that made us feel like she truly cared about us beyond just our wedding day.

Our ceremony was one of our favorite parts of the entire day, and so much of that is thanks to Sherri. She brought the perfect balance of warmth, joy, and professionalism, and made us feel completely at ease. We couldn’t have imagined anyone better to marry us, and we’re so grateful she was part of our wedding.

Love and laughter filled every moment of Brittoni + Jason’s special day…..with some truly unforgettable moments!!
From the striking arch of swords to the heartfelt adoption ceremony afterwards, their day was pure magic 💜

Jason said “I Do” not once, but twice, as he welcomed his beautiful bride and her daughter into his life. What a privilege to witness and facilitate this special moment, presenting the papers for Jason’s signature for an official adoption 🥹

Thank you, Brittoni and Jason, for sharing your precious love story with me. I’m honored to have been a part of it, and I look forward to seeing you again soon in NC, as part of my extended family 💕

PS. Planning Tip:
When planning an outdoor wedding, always have a weather-related plan B, just as J+B did! When storms popped up we were able to quickly pivot, as their venue offered an indoor option too, for no added stress or mess 🥳

Signed, sealed, delivered 💌✍️✨
💜 In North Carolina, making it “officially-official” is a quick team effort! After you’ve said your “I dos,” your wedding officiant (me!) and two witnesses grab a pen (black ink only!), and sign on the dotted line.

💜 In this case, we signed the marriage license right in the revelry of Wilmington’s Azalea Festival!

💜 You can also make it a star of the show by signing during the wedding ceremony, so your guests can cheer your witnesses on.

💜 Now, my work is still not done! I zip that license back to the Register of Deeds within 10 days so the state knows it’s legit 😉

💜 When you hire Officiant Sherri, that means I’m making a post-ceremony trip to the post office, to send it via certified mail with tracking (no lost licenses here!) 😉

💜 Or, if your license was obtained in New Hanover County, I may make a special trip to the ROD on the next business day instead, and hand-deliver it in person 💍
