Howdy yall! So... been a lot going around about Country Nights right now.
We are risking a lot writing this, however e believe it is important to speak up:). If standing up for a fellow small business that provides a great space for the community, results in this business taking a hit, so be it.
We want to be careful on how to proceed in writing this, so we will preface: Ozarks Country Swing has no stake, ownership, or investment in Country Nights, LLC. . We have no secret inside information, simply objective observation of a situation, and conclusions drawn thus. We have not been asked to post whatsoever, nor do the owners know we are, however there is enough attention I think it is important to speak up.
We'd like to mention as well, we are NOT tagging or mentioning the person responsible for these posts, as doing so would be very immature and rude and a violation of privacy:). We pride ourselves on professionalism, which includes respect, even for those we may not agree with.
To begin:
A video was posted to Tik Tok, alleging that Country nights and its owners had violated labor laws, Liquor laws, refused to pay employees, and offered illegal checks.
As far as finances goes for Country nights, according to when the pay period ends (or even when an employee is let go), they are NOT in violation of labor law. Feel free to check the laws and prove me wrong.
In fact, within the texts shown in the video, there is an offer of payment from the owners, that is promptly refused.
(A written check for payment is NOT illegal)
As far as the owners gambling money or purchasing food with their money... the owners are employed elsewhere, and any money they make from those jobs they are free to spend at their will.
Any money owed to business employees comes directly from the business, not an owners personal income. So that claim is very misrepresenting.
As far as a liquor license being violated, I believe that has already been debunked by the owner and others.
Regarding the party who posted the video claiming the owners have no bar experience whatsoever, we know for a fact that one owner worked at a very successful bar for many years, and I have personally confirmed that, in person, at the very bar, ironicallyšš
As far as the recommendation of playing EDM, rap, Hip Hop, etc. At the club, as opposed to primarily Country music... I think the name is in the bar "Country Nights". To add, we are in a small country town... in the midwest.... id love to hear from all yall, what do you prefer? Country music, and maybe some pop and hip hop for line dancing, or rap and hip hop exclusively?? Not asking for the company, just personal curiosity.
To conclude, I dont say any of this to be one-sided, however when someone is personally sewing facts and defaming a business and persons online (possibly a legal argument there), I dont stand by and see someone crumble. Do I think things could have been handled better on both sides? Absolutely! Do i think employees or former employees need to be paid? Absolutely! However to my knowledge that has been refused. Do I think Country Nights has been misrepresented? Absolutely!
Will we still be teaching dancing there? Absolutely! Are we planning some cool classes, workshops, etc soon??šš Yes, yes we are!
Country nights has provided a fun, clean, friendly, and downright good environment for anyone to come out and have a good time! This is a small town, not sure why anyone would want such a place to fail when people are constantly begging for it?
Once again I want to reiterate, we are not posting this at anyone's request, simply put, we dont like seeing businesses take flack for something that may not be true, or be misrepresented. As a small business owner, we support small businesses, we hate seeing them fail.
As of right now, no undeniable proof has been provided of any legal wrongdoing. Id imagine the result of such undeniable proof would be a civil suit. So until such time as there is undeniable proof, we go with the law: "Innocent until PROVEN guilty".
We wish no ill will towards any party involved, in fact we hope that all involved can come to terms and succeed in their endeavors!
We look forward to seeing yall out on the dance floor now and in the future! Let's keep this business going and grow dance community together! LETS RALLY THE COMMUNITY AND KEEP COUNTRY NIGHTS GOING!
Ps, if you have any questions about the integrity of the owners message them yourself, I know for a fact they have nothing to hide, and are very forthcoming:)
PPS... we are teaching tonight at 7:30, come on out for some dance lessons!:).
Thanks for your time and attention.
