Green onions……I love them! I don’t like to pay for them because they grow so easily at home in such a small space. You don’t need seeds, just a bundle of green onions from your local farmer or store, with the roots still attached. I store mine in the fridge and once I cut down to the white part of the stalk, I stick the root and white part of the stem into dirt and water it in. I have some on my window sill in the kitchen in a small container and outside in my greenstalk planter. Pictured below:
1-green onion root/stem I stuck into the dirt the night before. Notice the growth that happened overnight in the center of the stalk?
2-green onions that have been growing for 3 years. I cut on these every single week and they just keep growing back. I occasionally water them in the summer and do nothing in the winter. They keep going and going.
Grow your green onion. You don’t need much space. And they are so tasty!
