During WWII, Williamsport published a newsletter for soldiers overseas. One issue challenged readers to identify locals by their NICKNAMES.
Some highlights: Ape Jaw. Trough Mouth. One-Arm Janitor. Chow Wow. Toll Gate. Satchel Face. Pee-wee. Goggles. Turkeybird. Banjo Eyes. Socrates. Squinty. Double Barrel. River Ice. Foggy. Pickles. Eskimo. Toodles. The Diamond.
