Women of Éire : Sina Theil’s Long-Awaited Project Nears Completion www.sinatheil.com

A chance encounter on the set of Opry le Daniel in 2022 laid the foundations for Sina Theil’s most ambitious project yet – Women of Éire.

There, Theil first met Caitríona O’Sullivan. “You never know how the people you meet will shape your life and career,” says Theil. “Caitríona and I got on great from the start, with mutual respect and admiration.”

Their 2023 rendition of The Fields of Athenry reached No.1 on the Irish iTunes charts and has amassed close to four million YouTube views, fuelling Theil’s hunger to create something bigger. Further female collaborations, spearheaded by Theil for International Women’s Day in the years that followed, brought her wider vision into focus.

“By autumn 2024, I felt I couldn’t postpone the concept any longer. I had wanted to create an album bringing together some of Ireland’s most exciting female folk artists for years. It was finally time.”

The wait is almost over. Women of Éire, Theil’s fourth studio album and almost two years in the making, is set for release at the end of 2026, featuring Caitríona O’Sullivan, Chantelle Padden, The O’Neill Sisters, Tara Howley, Caitríona Sherlock, Ciara Fox and Elle Marie O’Dwyer, alongside Irish dancer Róisín Lyons.

Since early 2025, Theil’s idea has grown even further legs – the Women of Éire album concept birthing W.O.É (Women of Éire), a creative collective celebrating Irish culture, music and female artistry. W.O.É makes its live concert debut at Tinteán Theatre, Ballybunion, on 17 October (tickets: www.tintean.ie)
