It’s lily season, one of my favorite times of year to think about origins and family ties. My birthday is during lily season, I have two family members named Lily who are sweet, wonderful young women, I loooove the scent of lilies (they are definitely the sexiest flower- have you seen the sticky, glistening exudate from the pollen receptive part of the flower?!), and the lily is my business logo. Ahh lilies. Well, here’s some pretty ones for ya!

Howdy folks. My Summer Flower CSA starts next week and I'd sure love to grow flowers for you. This is my 16th season of growing organic flowers for the Southern Oregon community, and I've figured out some things along the way, like how to include a variety of colors, fragrances, textures and must-have flowers like peonies, lilies and dahlias.

You can choose to sign up for the Full Share (17-18 weeks, depending on your pick-up day) for flowers from June-September, or you can join on a Month-by-Month basis. The Summer Month-by-Month Share works great for folks who are travelling for some portion of the summer. A final option is to purchase a Dahlia Share, which spans 4 weeks in September when the dahlias are at their best. Just visit my website to sign up and choose your share type and pick-up location. I have pick-up locations in Grants Pass at Partake Lounge, Shop and Dine; Provolt at Whistling Duck Farm Store; Williams at the farm (Tuesdays); and Applegate at the Station; & Jacksonville at Jefferson Farm Kitchen (Thursdays). We also make free deliveries to businesses within a 1/2 mile of downtown in both Grants Pass and Jacksonville.

It was an incredible day last Saturday celebrating Kathryn & Thor’s wedding. Perfect weather and the best of the season’s flowers. If I was to get married again, I would definitely choose May to do it!

Sound on! You’ll Hear the powerful presence of Rock Creek running through Good Medicine in the background. I just finished designing the arbor for Kris and Jordan’s wedding today and I loved harvesting from the farm and foraging on a nearby hiking trail to create something that I think expresses local floral terroir- some of the most gorgeous of what’s farm grown (tulips, ranunculus and delphiniums) plus native plants (sword fern, live oak, black oak and cedar). Also, the couple incorporated so many personal touches like this homemade tripod arbor of Douglas fir and madrone. And their family put together these bud vase arrangements from DIY flowers I sold them. What a beautiful day and way to celebrate love!

Thanks to and for the delphiniums and Columbine that helped make this event so special.
