Happy Loving Day ❤️

Loving Day commemorates the 1967 Supreme Court decision in the Loving v. Virginia case, which struck down laws banning in*******al marriage in the United States.

For me, this day is deeply personal.

Because of the courage of Richard and Mildred Loving and their fight for the right to love and marry freely, I was able to marry my husband. What seems like a simple right today was once denied to countless couples simply because of the color of their skin.

As I look at this photo, I am reminded that love is powerful. Love challenges barriers, changes hearts, and even changes laws. My marriage, like so many others, stands on the shoulders of those who refused to accept that love should have limits.

Today, I celebrate my husband, our journey together, and the countless couples who came before us and helped make a more loving and inclusive world possible.

Love is love. Love is family. Love is worth fighting for.

❤️ Happy Loving Day!

Some moments stay with you long after the ceremony ends.

It’s the quiet in-between laughter, the deep breath right before “I do,” and the way two lives so beautifully choose each other in front of the people who matter most. Being invited into that space is never something I take lightly—it’s the heart of why I/we do what I/we do.

At Ceremonies By Lori, it’s never just about the ceremony. It’s about holding space for love in its most honest, joyful, and unforgettable form.

Ryan and Sam, thank you for letting me stand with you on such a meaningful day. 💛

Today was one of those days that reminds me why I love what I do. ❤️

After five years together, Stephanie and Michael officially became husband and wife surrounded by the people who love them most.

The love in the room was undeniable, but what stood out even more was the way their family showed up for them. The smiles, the hugs, the laughter—you could feel just how much these two are loved and supported. It was truly something special to witness.

Stephanie and Michael, thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your story. Congratulations on this next chapter. May your marriage be filled with all the love, laughter, and happiness that surrounded you today.

Some love stories take the scenic route. ❤️

Syreeta and Leonard first knew each other in the 1980s. Life led them down separate paths, but fate had other plans and brought them back together again.

After being married religiously, today they officially joined together civilly, and it was such a beautiful moment to witness. The love and connection between these two were undeniable, reminding me that sometimes the best things in life are worth waiting for.

What a wonderful way to start a Friday and kick off a wedding-filled weekend!

Congratulations, Syreeta and Leonard! Thank you for allowing me to be part of this special chapter in your love story.

🚫 PSA: Why You Should Be Careful About Having a Friend or Family Member Officiate Your Ceremony 🚫

We’re sharing this with permission from a Ceremonies by Lori client, because it’s an important reminder for couples planning their weddings in 2026.

Recently, a couple reached out in distress after their wedding ceremony. They had asked a close friend to officiate, but later discovered the legal requirements were not properly completed. As a result, their marriage license was rejected by the Register of Wills office.

That means they returned from what they believed was their honeymoon… only to learn their marriage was not legally recognized.

It’s a situation no couple ever expects—and unfortunately, it happens more often than people realize.

After reaching out, we were able to meet with the couple and help them correct everything with a small “mini-mony” to ensure their license was properly completed and will now be filed correctly. They can finally move forward knowing their marriage is legally valid.

Here’s the takeaway for 2026 couples:
If you choose someone other than a clergy member, judge/magistrate, or professional officiant to perform your ceremony, make sure they fully understand your state’s legal requirements and responsibilities. A beautiful ceremony matters—but so does making sure your marriage is legally binding.

Don’t let paperwork turn your celebration into stress later. Your wedding day should be joyful, meaningful, and fully recognized from the start.
