We want to share a behind the scenes look at the making of Mark & Kathy’s wedding video...the thought process, the love, and the intention. A synopsis of the work that went into crafting this wedding film.

With every wedding video we start with themes to build the story. Here are a few that we picked up on.

“Yin and Yang” is a theme.
“Warmth or sunshine” is a theme.
“Self and individuality” is a theme.
“Fun” is a theme.

We focused on a mix of unscripted moments and romantic cinematic shots. The opening of Mark really showing his personality and excitement. Kathy getting ready with quiet nerves, building the anticipation. Their sweet first look mostly raw and uncut. The story of this wedding video really highlights who they are as individuals, who they are as a couple and the support of their family and friends. Lastly, we wanted to go into the last song with a little bit of humor and show off the couple’s fun loving, silly sides.

We hope you enjoy the honesty, depth and journey of this film.

When we sat down to edit this film we knew that we wanted to start off with the prayer that the couple had before their ceremony started. It was such a sweet and powerful moment - it also showed us a lot who Christian and Jewlee are.

One of my favorite things that Jewlee said to Christian over and over again was ‘hi boyfriend’ which was a phrase that the couple has used while dating. It was a fun reminder that the couple vowed to always date each other, no matter what.

2013 was when we really started filming weddings. At the time Jenn was doing photography, I was a youth pastor and I had no clue where this video business would take us.

Really, I started Nick Miller Films (we changed the name to Wild Oak Films in 2017) as a creative outlet to make some extra money. What it turned into was something that I couldn’t imagine it would become. We have had the opportunity to film over 300 weddings. We’ve worked with some incredible couples from all walks of life. Some of the best relationships that we have built have come from other vendors in the wedding space. We’ve have gotten to travel the U.S. and the world doing something that we love to do.

For the past 12+ years Wild Oak Films has had one main goal: to bless the couples we work with. Ultimately, we want the work that we create to be something that will bring our couples closer together.

I’m here to say thank you to all of the people we have worked with. We appreciate you so much. You’ve helped turn this ‘how can I make extra money’ business into something that has grown, is thriving, and something I am deeply proud of. So, thank you.
