Introducing the newest Mr. and Mrs. Schroeder! 🥳
Aaron and Cloe could not have asked for a prettier day to celebrate their love with one another. Kansas typically is rainy, windy and stormy in May. It was sunny, clear and barely had a breeze.

This was the second wedding I've photographed at my own church which is crazy because this is actually wedding number 307 for me! 😍

So many wonderful memories and photos to come! But for now, happy first full day of marriage you two! Enjoy every minute of it! 😘

You know you love what you do when you have a blast doing it. You’ve found a romance author, dance studio owner, and a wedding photographer all bundled into one adorable spitfire. I’ll keep you on your toes, make you laugh, have deep conversations about life, and write novels that will make you believe in love again. Even if you’ve lost faith in love after divorce, abuse, or betrayal. I’m here writing about fate and hope because that’s what I believe in. If you just stumbled here, it’s fate. My brother is getting married! Wiktoria and Eric met each other on a Catholic dating app. She is from Poland and the week of Christmas, he flew there to propose to her. They dated secretly for nearly a year! He surprised us all on Christmas night with photos of him popping the question.

She came out to spend two weeks here and asked me if I'd take their engagement pictures before she went back to Poland. Their wedding is slated for December at our beautiful church.

Yesterday, I learned girls wear their wedding rings on the right hand in Poland. Who knew?

Cheers to Eric and Wiktoria! I can't wait to capture their wedding. 😍

Help me congratulate the newest Mr. and Mrs. Schroeder!
It was the coldest wedding I've ever photographed. There were negative twenty windchills. The snow blew around us all day, but the love Robert and Laura share kept them warm the entire time.

My 305th wedding ended up being the first one I've photographed at my own church. 💛

2016 called. It said it only gets better from here. 🥹

It was the year Kansas Weddings Magazine contacted me to host a styled shoot and The Knot Magazine told me they were going to feature me as a success story in 2017.

Little did I know, my career as a wedding photographer was about to take off to new heights. I would end up shooting 42 weddings in 2017 thanks to the publicity I got from both publications.

I traveled the nation shooting weddings, engagements, and anniversaries. Little 25 year old me.
I saw places I wouldn't have seen and ended up meeting TENS OF THOUSANDS of people over the course of my full time, luxury wedding photography career.
It allowed me to pay off our house, for our family to take regular family vacations, and to be inspired by real life, love stories. Every. Single. Day.

And now, in a full circle moment, I get to relive moments from some of the greatest memories I have by writing romance novels for you! From the venues I photographed in, to the places I traveled to, to the body and love languages I witnessed. . .

Being a wedding photographer brought me to the ultimate dream I thought would never happen--being an author.

So many of you have been on the journey with me since day one and I cannot express all of the love and gratefulness I have for each and every one of you.

I'm Skyla Banes. I'm a wedding photographer and social media influencer who was left at the altar last June. My best friend and wedding videographer, Cam Dawson, was the best man. When I moved from the pan handle of Florida to Southern California to get away from my ex and all the memories of my happily-ever-after disaster, Cam surprised me by moving too.

He livestreams at every wedding with me and we've become known as the wedding photo and video dream team. I like Cam a lot, but our entire business strategy is built on our friendship so I won't make a move until he does.

I am in need of a guy to partner with my ballerina model for the cover of my next book, My Forever Dance Partner.
No dance experience is required, but bonus if you feel comfortable enough lifting her.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐦 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫?

- Age range of eighteen to twenty-seven with brown or dark blonde hair.

- Hair must be at least a couple of inches in length, but no longer than tousled hair.

- Must have tan or golden complexion. Caucasian, Hispanic, Italian, etc. (Sorry my fellow pale friends, my style of photography is better for tan skin in my black and white book cover series 😅).

- Must be at least 5'8"/5'9". (My ballerina will be wearing pointe shoes and she is already 5'5" so if you're taller, even better!)

- Must be willing to sign a model release stating I may use the photos for promotional usage, book cover, AI image live, etc. Must be in the Wichita area or willing to travel to the Wichita area.

One of my all time fave books and movies is Legally Blonde. Might have to do some more fun edits like this. 🤭 But yeah, I have photographed 303 weddings to date and my romance novel is fiction inspired by my travels, the vendors I’ve met, and the love I watched.
