Well it’s March 1, wedding season has begun. Many of you will attend a few weddings this year. So here is a quick tip to help you be a great wedding guest.
Tips on Be a great wedding guest
Wedding Planners , Coordinators have a huge task and managing every aspect of the couples special day. Usually 8-14 months of planning has taken place to make this event look the way it does. They are highly skilled when it comes to event flow and eye for detail. They are the MVPs of the day. If you need something be brief and direct so that they can continue managing the day
Photographers setup their cameras with the proper tools to capture the best shots. They walk the venues to plan out the best angles and backdrops for the epics shots. They are highly skilled and have a shot list and flow for their long day at a wedding. Then after a full day hundreds of shots the tedious task of editing has to happen. I few weeks later all of their skill and talent shine through once you get those images.
DJs setup all their speakers, turntables and lighting to project sound and lighting. They walk the venue to plan out the best angles for an epic dance party. They are highly skilled in their field and have a timeline from the planner and the couple to follow for their long day at a wedding. Before they can deliver this epic experience several weeks and months of planning has gone into their playlist of songs to create a great atmosphere.
Remember “You’re a guest”
Bring a gift
Eat the free food
Drink the free booze
Enjoy the beautiful scenery
This is not an opportunity for you to direct the Coordinator, Photographer or DJ on what has already been planned out by the couple. When you get married it’s your turn but not tonight. If you are already married this is not an attempt to fix what went wrong at your wedding.
My good friend Earl Newell wrote this…I would add…. If your a guest at a wedding, you were invited to have a good time…so socialize, eat, drink and dance!!!!
