Optimist Club of the Westbank sponsored the 29th annual Louisiana Kids, Inc. State Finals Competition event today. The event was amazing as our Alumni adults along with volunteers from Westwego and Marrero Lions Clubs, Rotary Club, Westwego Historical Society and Greater New Orleans Bromeliad Society. Events like our 29th Annual State Competition simply would not be possible without the dedicated individuals who give their time and energy to help behind the scenes. From setting up, selling concessions, assisting contestants, running registration, and cleaning up afterward, our volunteers played a vital role in making this event a success.

We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for your hard work, your smiles, and your willingness to serve. Your efforts helped create a memorable experience for our contestants and their families.

Tomorrow is our Louisiana Kids Inc. 2026 State Finals Competition at ICS Gymnasium! Our theme is "America the Beautiful" because with all the hate and negativity in the world, we want to focus on love and how beautiful our country can be when we love our neighbors and spread kindness to all! We are so excited to see all of you tomorrow! And the best news is that anyone can come and see our talented kids and support our organization! The Competition begins at 9am! Entry is $10! We will have hot dogs, nachos, fudge, brownies, candy, and drinks for sale! All proceeds benefit our organization! There is also still time to purchase tickets for our gift basket which includes $350 of restaurant gift cards! Tickets are $5 each or 5 tickets for $20! The winner doesn't need to be present and will be pulled tomorrow prior to our award ceremony! We are so excited to see yall ♡

If you want to help the Louisiana Kids, Inc. Organization, please purchase raffle tickets! This organization is a nonprofit who helps showcase children's talents thoughout the state. It is strictly run by volunteers who want to help make a difference in the lives of children in our community.

The Gift Basket includes Louisiana Kids Merchandise and over $300 worth of gift cards to local restaurants! We are still collecting gift cards, but so far we have the following in the basket:
- 2 - $25 gift cards to Ground Pat'i (Gretna)
- 2 - $25 gift cards to Empress of China
- $50 gift card to Wego Nutrition
- $50 gift card to New Orleans Food & Spirits
- $50 gift card to Olive Branch Cafe
- $50 gift card to Mo's Pizza

If you would like to purchase tickets, please see a Louisiana Kids Inc. Board Member. Tickets are $5/piece or 5 tickets for $20! Cash and venmo () are accepted.
