Suzuki Music Schools The Suzuki Music Schools of Westport & Orange, CT, is Fairfield County's leading 501(c)3 non-profit music school, founded in 1997.

With locations in Westport and Orange, Connecticut, Suzuki Music Schools is a 501(c)3 community music school founded in 1997 dedicated to inspiring young minds to experience the joy of music. We offer music lessons in violin, viola, cello, guitar, flute, piano, chamber music, and music theory to over 400 students. We also run a variety of music classes for mothers and tots from newborn to 6 years,

as well as music enrichment classes for adults of all ages. Our talented faculty is trained within the Suzuki Method and aims to instill joy and confidence to every student through the medium of music. We invite you to come and visit the school, meet the faculty or sit in on a lesson. Or if you would like to be entertained, come and attend one of our events - an inspiring student concert or our exciting visiting artist series. Save the date for our annual Spooky Suzuki Concert and Fair on Sunday, October 26th at 2pm at Gilbertie's Herbs and Garden Center in Westport!

The concert and fair is open to the public, family-friendly for kids of all ages, and we'd love for you to join in on the fun afterward. Bring a lawn chair or a picnic blanket. There will even be a pre-concert performance by Vivace at 1:30pm as you arrive.

💗 Hope Lives Fundraiser at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church 🎻

On Sunday October 5th, our students (Claire D'Souza, Noah D'Souza, and Bobby Mays) proudly performed at the Hope Lives Fundraiser at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church supporting the Hewitt Center for Breast Health and Griffin Hospital. This fundraiser helps provide free mammograms for women in need. Thank you to the event organizers for letting us play a part in this special event!

Welcome to Our New Faculty Member, Yuanyuan Liu - Piano 🎹

Yuanyuan Liu holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The Hartt School, University of Hartford, where she also earned her master’s degree under the mentorship of Professor Paul Rutman. During her studies, she also received coaching from Jose Ramos Santana and Luiz de Moura Castro. Originally from China, Yuanyuan began her piano journey at the age of six and received her formal training at the attached School of the Wuhan Conservatory of Music, where she later completed her bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance.

During her studies, she consistently earned numerous scholarships and distinguished herself in prestigious competitions. She was awarded the Evelyn Bonar Storrs Scholarship, the Fuller Talent Award, and the Irene Kahn Piano Scholarship. Her competition accolades include First Prize at the Chopin Memorial Competition held during the Hong Kong International Piano Competition, the Excellence Prize at the Classic Piano Sonata Contest in Wuhan, and Best Piano Solo at the Yueyang Pugongying Televised Competition.

With over 13 years of teaching experience, Yuanyuan is a dedicated piano pedagogue who has studied piano pedagogy and Suzuki teaching methods. She has been recognized multiple times as an outstanding teacher, with her students excelling in competitions and gaining admission to prestigious universities in the United States. She currently teaches at the Hartt School Community Division.

Yuanyuan has also served as a judge for numerous competitions. Her judging experience includes the 9th Steinway & Sons International Piano Competition (Chair of the Jury), the 34th United States Open Music Competition, and the Young Musician Festival (The Schubert Club of Fairfield County). She is invited to perform and judge for the Concert Star International Music Competition at Carnegie Hall in October 2025.

Get ready for our first Children’s Pillow Concert of the Season this Sunday September 28th at 3pm at the Westport location with the Zori, Shao, Cheng Piano trio 🎻🎻🎹

Tickets are free, but register to reserve your ticket before they’re gone as seating is capped. Children are welcome to bring your own pillow and listen to the performers up close. It’s a perfect introduction for first time concert goers age 5+.
