Topanga's very own Brando is going to have parts of his workshop at Corazon ✨️ yippee!! -- "proud and excited to announce to you that we have officially decided to launch our very first “Topanga Mushroom Camp”! January 13 & 14!
This is a 2 day experience, and a package deal, over the course of Saturday and Sunday! Each day will require approximately 5 hours of our group time together.
We will kick Saturday morning off at 9:30am with an educational wild mushroom walk, where we will observe the biodiversity of the fungi kingdom and talk about all things fungi in our local ecology. Then we head back to our local venue where we will get prepped and set up for who will be leading us in an educational workshop, instructing our group how to grow oyster mushrooms at home! This way you get the best of both worlds, education and training on wild fungi, and also on cultivating and growing your own! The forage world meets the farm world!
Chef Brando will be walking around serving medicinal mushroom hot chocolate (raw hot chocolate with adaptogenic mushrooms).
Sunday will start a bit later, around 11 AM and we will begin getting set up and prepped to start a wonderful workshop with our very own who will guide us through an artistic and educational experience of learning how to use wild mushrooms to make color pigments for dyeing silk and other fabrics different colors! And each individual will dye their own silk scarf, which we provide!
We finish the day on Sunday together with a mushroom tasting menu, prepared by myself, and this is going to be a real treat. You don’t want to miss my creative chef skills put to the test!
