Last night we saw an incredible musical, Shout, Sister Shout! At Ford’s theatre. We even met the music director. Our choir students were delighted because our recent concert song, Down By the Riverside, was in the musical.

Time at the Smithsonian Museums has given the students some time to explore. Coming back together, WHS spends in the African American Museum. The contemplation room is a welcome break for rest and reflection.

WHS Music Dept has made some amazing stops on our trip to Washington DC. Last night, we saw Kenny Garrett perform with his band at Blues Alley, while we clapped and enjoyed good food and company after a long drive down from CT

The Concert Choir collaborated with OSHS at the OSW Festival on February 2nd. They performed Regina Coeli and Battle Hymn of the Republic with an orchestra, conducted by Mr. Jeremy Milton

🎉🎶WHS MUSIC NEWS 📰 🗞

Westbrook HS previously had eight students audition for and be selected to the 2020 Connecticut Music Educators Association Regional Honors Ensembles. This qualified these students to audition for the 2021 All State Ensembles last month. This year, Westbrook High School had three students selected to this year's All State Ensembles: Hever Gomez was chosen for Mixed Choir, Luca Troop was selected for Concert Band, and Hannah Schilling, who scored only ten points shy of a perfect score, was selected to the Treble Choir. These students are fresh off of representing WHS during virtual experiences this past weekend. Congratulations to these three outstanding musicians!
