The so-called "Stop the Sexualization of Children Act", is a federal bill currently awaiting consideration in the U.S. House of Representatives.
➡️ It seeks to restrict the use of federal education funding for materials or programs deemed "sexually oriented" for children under 18.
➡️ It targets LGBTQ+ youth and aims to erase transgender representation from schools.
➡️ It could result in federally mandated book bans across the nation.

🌮🍻📚 💪 We need to twist your arm a little and ask you to sacrifice a bit of your Sunday afternoon on May 17 to help us with the important task of shopping books, eating brunchy tacos, and drinking great beer.

But, how will that raise 💰, you ask?

Simple: 100% of ticket sales and 20% of book fair purchases benefit the cause.

*Research shows that providing books to kids in low-income homes helps break the link between poverty + poor academic outcomes.
*Pockets of "book deserts" (where less than 100 books are likely to be found in homes) affect Worcester.
*Community Book Nooks flood book deserts with easy access to books that kids can read, enjoy, and take home.

This is a lean, fast-paced psychological thriller that delivers a commentary on human beings and LIFE but doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s a smart novel that breaks the fourth wall and brings us along, in on the joke—at the same time as leaving us feeling fuller, more connected, more alive.

Creeeaakkk...creeeeaaaakkk...*shake*shake*shake*...

Hear that? That's the sound of me reemerging into the light from the hazy shade of a long March, shedding some heaviness, and getting geared up for a busy spring.

I was on a bit of an emergency sabbatical for a while in order to marvel at the wonders of the American healthcare system alongside my dad. To say that the system is in a pretty sad state is much like saying that medical professionals are truly awe-inspiring: both understatements.

Now that our medical "stuff" is (mostly) at bay, please allow me to offer you some much belated updates and reminders!

This buzzy debut novel is about a tradwife influencer. It is not going to be for everyone because of its biting and dark satire at times, but I DEVOURED IT IN 2 DAYS. Through the story of a Christian influencer trying to represent Americana, we are invited to explore cultural expectations of being a wife and mother and entrepreneur. We are not meant to like or agree with the protagonist, but we are meant to see how she rationalizes her life.

In addition to the broader message, it was a fun read that kept me guessing what was really happening as this woman who cultivated her life on social media wakes up in 1855 with none of the modern comforts. The dual timeline is a CRAZY RIDE that takes you along.
