We are truly sorry. Going forward, we will no longer be operating in the City of Lake Worth Beach.
The City of Lake Worth Beach and its code enforcement have forced the cancellation of all food truck services on private property after “discussions” with the city. Two local businesses collaborating peacefully on private property — with no easements blocked, no sidewalks obstructed — is apparently too much for them to tolerate.
Meanwhile, the same city is perfectly fine with people on South E Street and South D Street selling food from their vehicles and carts right in the road — unlicensed, uninsured, and with zero health inspections. That’s somehow acceptable. A properly run food truck on private property? Absolute crisis.
This is what “business-friendly” looks like in Lake Worth Beach: cracking down hard on small operators trying to create a positive weekend experience for the community while looking the other way at unregulated street vending… and while the city ranks among the top three worst in the county on multiple fronts.
While they’re busy shutting down a food truck that was harming no one, here’s what they’re not prioritizing with the same energy:
1. Financial reporting delays and lack of transparency on taxpayer funds
2. Alleged misuse of restricted sales-tax money for private development
3. High overall crime rates
4. Public disorder involving drugs, prostitution, and homelessness
5. Governance controversies — charter violations and political accusations
Why is a food truck on private property a bigger problem than any of that — or than the unlicensed, uninsured food sales happening openly on South E & D?
This decision is a huge blow to our business and to the partner business that hosted us. It is also a clear message to every small business owner: Lake Worth Beach would rather chase away legitimate collaboration and community than confront its own real problems or apply its rules consistently.
We apologize again to everyone who looked forward to seeing us on Sundays. We will continue serving you — just not in a city that treats private-property partnerships this way while ignoring far more obvious issues.
