Foam or no foam… the floral industry’s favorite debate.

Here’s my take: Design your way, and I’ll design mine.

I use floral foam because it works for the events I create. Others choose not to—and that’s perfectly okay too. There are many ways to create beautiful florals.

What doesn’t belong in this industry? The bullying.

If someone else’s mechanics have you more stressed than your own designs… it might be time to rearrange your priorities.

We’re all here because we love flowers. Let’s act like it.

EVENT PROFESSIONALS

Playing the game of “who can go the lowest” will not sustain your business.

There will ALWAYS be someone willing to do it cheaper.
Someone willing to cut corners.
Someone willing to underprice their talent, time, experience, creativity, and expertise just to get the booking.

But hear me when I say this: CHEAP IS NOT A BUSINESS STRATEGY.

Know your numbers. Know your worth. Know the value of what you bring to the table.

You cannot build a sustainable business while constantly competing to see who can charge the least. Eventually, the math stops mathing.

Stop racing to the bottom and start building a business that can afford to stay in business.

The goal isn’t to be the cheapest.
The goal is to be worth it.

Tip Tuesday!

The foundation of a beautiful arrangement starts before you place the first flower.

Two of the biggest mistakes I see? Forcing floral foam under the water & pouring water over the foam.

Instead let it soak naturally and completely…your flowers will thank you with a longer vase life and better hydration.

Sometimes it’s the simplest techniques that make the biggest difference.

The classroom is only half the lesson.

Today, we traded the studio for the flower wholesaler because learning luxury floristry isn’t just about arranging beautiful flowers, it’s about knowing where to source them, how to choose the freshest stems, what’s in season, and how to shop with confidence.

My goal is to teach my students the entire process, not just the final design. That’s the difference.
