Summer Camp has officially begun this week for students at the West Monroe Community Center. This year's summer theme is "Celebrating America 250." 🇺🇸Students receive instruction in English Language Arts and Math along with themed enrichment activities. This program aims to prevent summer learning loss and provide students with a boost for the upcoming school year.

We are also partnering with Turning Pages, where 30 students are paired with Reading Buddies. 📚Additionally, the Wellspring’s YEP program offers Life Skills lessons, and Teach One to Lead One is mentoring our 4th and 5th graders through a curriculum-based program.

Throughout the camp, we will have field trips to explore and learn more about America’s history.

The camp is funded by the Entergy Foundation, the Rosemary Ewing Foundation, and our various partners.🙏

Our youth were able to take part in a variety of fun and engaging activities throughout the year. These pictures are just a small glimpse of all the fun, learning, and memories we made together.

Join Kount Teens 2 Mentor Organization for the 4th Annual Paint the Community With Love event: Mindset Reset on Saturday, May 30 at 1:00 p.m. at the West Monroe Community Center. 💚

This event is designed to encourage and empower teens through meaningful conversations, positive support, and practical ways to strengthen mental wellness and support one another. Centered around the message “Reset. Reflect. Rise Together.”, participants will have the opportunity to connect, grow, and be reminded of the importance of community and encouragement.

The City of West Monroe was proud to partner with Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church for a community cleanup in the Riverbend neighborhood as part of Love the Boot Week.

With the help of dedicated volunteers, this effort focused on making a visible difference right here at home—reminding us all that small actions can have a lasting impact on the places we share.
